Guest lowfatmuffin
I thought it was a great show too. I loved the venue, that bouncy floor is something else. I got kicked out mid-first set for smoking, but bought another ticket and went right back in. I was bummed to miss Me and My Uncle though. Hearing Jack Straw made my night. Guest tdub
It was a lovely show. The band dedicated their first song and the show to their departed founding keyboard player and mentioned how the Crystal is one of their favorite places to play in the country. My first "no old show setlist" show and I loved the "grab bag" guessing game on what they would play next and it was so cool to hear a range of songs from about 1967 to 1994. Rarities galore and all really well played. The Help/Slip/MNStopped was absolutely smokin'. Well paced show, great old venue. Security was more heavy handed than usual. Really cracked down on smokers now that the state law passed. Other than that, the staff was pretty mellow and polite. Wish I could get down to Eugene for tonight, but stuck. Thanks, DSO, another consistently fine show full of surprises!
Forum MVP Teacher Matt Posted April 27, 2009 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 27, 2009 A GRATE TRIBUTE TO SCOTT !!!!! Special thanks to band and crew for giving that night to memory of him... Rob B. and Rob E. each saying kind words about Scott and then backing those words up !! and how about Rob K. tossing those drumsticks up to almost hit the ceiling !!!! The energy was there.. and during Visions I think Scott was there as well....
ThinMan
just curious - how is the there an encore and then a filler on an elective list??? isn't just one encore: t.stones > gdtrfb> bid you goodnight
Muddy Waters
No disrespect intended for those folks that got thrown out but heres a thought.. Unless the gestapo is charge of security which may have been the case...follow the rules...my guess is their time before, at set break and after...... Guest Jstraw
Super fun show! Loved the wide range of tunes. It is always great to see songs I never saw the dead play live, like Two Souls and Alligator>the Eleven, beautiful! Really, such amazing musicianship in this band. A true joy to watch, listen, and dance to! I do have to say that the gestapo seemed to be out that night. I've been to the Crystal countless times (DSO & non-DSO) and have never seen it that bad. Maybe it was where I was, but I saw a few people get kicked out for smoking (both kinds) right around me, it was unusual for this venue. I would guess it has something to do with the indoor smoking ban in effect since Jan.

All I DO know is that by the time we got to the T Stones>GDTRFB I was in freaking heaven!!!!!!!! As has been the case lately with DSO, the Seattle/Portland combo may have been the hottest I have seen from DSO. Absolutely SMOKING HOT!!!!!
