Captain Zap
I had heard a lot about DSO and had simply dismissed them as another cover band. Man was I wrong. I saw the show in February in Raleigh, North Carolina at the behest of my very good friends from New Jersey. Kris and Steve called me early that morning and put the seed in my head. Well, to say the least.... I was blown away. I have since heard that the sound wasn't that good; but I couldn't tell. Frankly, after 234 Dead shows, I didn't think I was wowable anymore. This band kicks ass. It looks like I'll be going to the Gratefulfest in Ohio for all three shows. I am a man with too many plans, but this is one that I just can't turn down. So anyhow, for Kris and Steve..... thanks that really hit the spot. For all of you in the audience in Raleigh, thanks for letting a grown man cry with joy, and not disturb his space. For the band..... you are exceptional artists and a gift from God. Keep it up team.... you have one more fan who'll cross heaven and earth to give you more chances to wow me. Captain Zap
I'm planning on making my way out to Ohio for the Gratefulfest in July..... I'll be flying into Cleveland and looking for a ride, or riders on Friday, back to the airport on Monday. I'm all about being Green and keeping the expenses low. Anybody interested in sharing a car? Foege
Welcome Captain!!! I'm glad you finally allowed yourself to check DSO out. I always cringe when I hear people describe DSO as a cover band. The debate over cover band and tribute band has happened on this forum before. I was lucky enough to meet not 1, not 2 but 3 DSO virgins this past Colorado run. It was very cool to see them grinning ear to ear. (Hmmm I wonder if their faces hurt the next day.) I just loved hearing the new sound system they brought along this time. After 11+ years seeing DSO, they still surprise me!

Captain Zap
Hay Bill ,good hearing you on here .Drive up & do the virgina shows in june,we'll be there. __-Steve & Kris Dude.... when you guys called I was in a real funk and dismissed it at first. Then I went bowling and actually got a 601 series. Being the flake I can be, I took that as a sign and got my tickets ASAP. Again.... thanks! I sooooo enjoyed my 5 or so years traveling to see the Jerry and the boys and wouldn't trade any life for what I gained in that time. However, DSO represents today and holy cow, they are something I can get in to. This whole thing in Ohio couldn't have come at a better time. I am in a forced vacation for three weeks. Gratefulfest will be the start with the Oregon Country Fair in the middle, wrapped up with a rafting trip in Northern California. I mean like...... wooooo, the old me will get three whole weeks away from all this corporate shit and a chance to rediscover... me. So, I can't express how much I appreciate Kris and you for thinking of me. The single night with DSO has cracked a layer of ice that I didn't even know was there. I feel liberated. After three days and four nights in the woods with this crew... I may even feel reborn. Hope to see you both in Virginia; which show are you going to? Both? Let me know, I would really enjoy seeing you both again.

Peace Kris The last journey was "around and around and around we go", and apparantly, I looks like I may have just stepped off the bus for a decade or two. So anyhow, all good things in all good time and I am hoping to be there. At this point I can't think of why I wouldn't. At least one of the Virginia shows. So, keep on keeping on, and we'll be in touch. Who said I'm old? ;-) Namaste Bill
