WELL...ahem!

Bobby came and picked me up from work in my volvo and we headed out, me with no ticket, but we would get there early enough so I could try for a miracle or something.. he brought his GPS to navigate.

It said to turn a little earlier than I remember looking at on google maps...I said oh well, a different route...scenic.

Sure enough, scenic! But when we started to go down the road and there was no one in sight and no tracks on the road but mine..hmm, a nice route, no traffic...I thought.........Until, we hit the ROAD CLOSED sign...FUCK!!!!!! we should have realized it with no one else on the road!!!!!! oh well, we are a little past Leadville we can find another route than going back to I-70.......wrong. So I hauled balls to the show, luckily I didn't get a speeding ticket...but, I did get a warning from a cop in Leadville (on the way back through) for having my brights on in town..no worries, back on the road...go speed racer, GO!

We get to Aspen and park, and physically RUN to the show, I can hear a jam from outside. Bobby gets his ticket and I walk up to a few gentlemen who are holding up a ticket, here's my chance.

I said, "Hey man, I need that!"

He said, "For 20 push-ups."

I'm on the ground and counting aloud.1,2,3,....20!

His buddy decides that's not enough, "How about a joke"

Me, "I can't think of a good joke right now" - Out of breath from RUNNING to the show>20 push-ups!

"OK" he says, "How about a dance"

I do an Irish jig...he approves--ticket in-hand!

Made it in during Playin', in time for the turn-around...nice sound, I always liked the more intimate settings.

What a Long Strange Trip....

One of my favorite transitions ever on this show's D Star into Dew. Whoever is playing strings--cello-- (from NRPS?) leads Phil and and Garcia into the Morning Dew--it's an incredible couple minutes of pure magic.

Anytime I see the numbers 824, I think of this moment.
