Wow!!! while you guys were taking part in this killer show, I worked all night 6pm -- 6am making moonshine at our local ethanol plant. Nice, Nice Nice!!! I just know Torin had a blast at this first night of show. ....and I'm sure Chuck Vegas was heard saying: "don't throw no water on me, just let me burn"! Wish I could have made this show for sure. Hope all had a great time. DSO Rocks!

I really, really hope that one of the folks who had mics up will make this one available!

John is the Jerry Lama. After last night there can be no doubt in my mind. :-)

It was better than ever. Can't believe the energy in that venue. I know Donna contributed to it. I fell in love with the Dead in '78. That era of shows kept me coming back for more and I have never looked back. I am so grateful to be able to still enjoy the live music. It is nice having my son at a couple of the shows, he grew up with the music and I do believe he is loving it more and more. So he saw the Dead once in '95 and DSO perhaps 6 times now.

Highlights for me are hard to pick. The whole show was incredible. Jack Straw opener brought me to a solemn reverence. I love Black Peter and can't say enough about the performance of that song last night. Of course the Scarlet/fire was smokin and the Music, dancin! dancin! dancin!

Now the drums, the set up of the stage was a dead give away. Family drums, far too much fun out there. Like a prayer.

See you all tonight for another round. Shine through my window and my friends they come around.

Love and Peace, Kris

something about candyman in NYC that makes it extra special and the Passenger, Peggy-O, Music No to close the first was great

i do think tho that the show really took off with the start of Scarlet...the band was on fire and the rest of the night smoked

the Black Peter was HUGE...john really stretched both the vocals and the jam and the Around was a big NY finish, they went into the double time at the end and the place just exploded

and man 'o man kevin was dropping some serious bombs last night - he was loud as sh*t last night

I feel very lucky to have experenced the last three shows .The pairing of the 2 night run in the city was an excellent choice from Rob E. The first night was just so so incredible , real time rock & roll ,the chunk of music in the 2nd set was unbelievable. scarlet fire dancin drums ,nfa right on to the end .If I had just one word to explain it to you all I would have to pick spiritual. They were is such a zone that was just filling the whole venue, that 3 d sound of Healys is just so unreal .Second was just as good ,great drum attacks both nights ,Seeing Bill Walton up on the stage was really cool.Meeting new people from the boards is always neat, would have loved to have met Frankin keene who was there friday & thin man but maybe in the future .Dancing my ass off with the nicest people in the whole wide world ,I think I od on espresso, thanks to Brian . & yes Herdy you are one of the f*&%) en kindest people out there ,keep it up brother we do love you !!!! Can't wait til next week. :dsorocks:

i forget what song it was but did anyone else catch donna giving JK a kiss when she was leaving the stage in between tunes? john got as red as a little schoolboy and it was clear that he was playing to her...perhaps even showing off a little bit. very funny. there was a lot of love going around on stage whether it was with JK's girlfriend appearing to lead the frenzied drum circle or the choice of filler (how sweet it is). all in all the show was just as i expected it would be....very sick. wish i could see these guys more. they keep getting better and better

Ears are still blazing from Fire, Dancin, and Drums. Didn't get the NFA reprise from the original 78 concert. Perhaps they had to cut some time to make room for the amazing drum session.

Dr. P

Here is a short video of the drum session you were mentioning above!!

What a great show, but Night 2 was SMOKING!!!!!
