Bummed when I saw DSO not listed on Iclips...but while browsing, I found a live radio feed!

Nice 1977 show from Binghamton NY.

11/06/77 (Sun) Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena - Binghamton, NY

Set 1: Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo, Jack Straw, Tennessee Jed, Mexicali Blues > Me & My Uncle, Friend Of The Devil, Minglewood Blues, Dupree's Diamond Blues, Passenger, Dire Wolf, Music Never Stopped

Set 2: Samson & Delilah, Sunrise*, Scarlet Begonias > Fire On The Mountain > Good Lovin' > St. Stephen > Drums > Not Fade Away > Wharf Rat > St. Stephen > Truckin', E: Johnny B. Goode

Filler...Don't let go (in honor of Jerry's Birthday) >We bid you goodnight............aaaaahhhhhh.

*Donna J Godchaux sang Sunrise, which she also wrote.

Great sound! Hope others caught it live and in their homes...!!

Quite the nite!! Gotta love the outdoor sound, and what an amazing sound system the festival had. Everybody sounded clear and great, although Donna Jean's vocals were a bit hard to hear. Flat out an amazing show with an unbelievable Truckin' to end an amazing second set, which followed a great first set. A very addictive concert leaving me quite satisfied yet wanting a whole lot more of DSO!!!

Was it Lisa or Donna?

it was lisa. donna came out for samson and deliah, and then eaton announced "now this is a song written by donna jean...", but lisa sang it. thankfully.l

the band, as always, played extremely well. i've gotta say that I don't like seeing dso at festivals(excluding NLQP) that much. I got that feeling that a lot of people really didn't care for the music at all. all in all a good ole time but just not the same feeling i'm used to.

makes me that much more excited for gratefulfest.

One of the best nites of my life, back in '77. My friend Sy Kocis, was the caterer for John Scher's Monarch Ent, which booked all Dead shows east of the Rockies. My girlfriend,(now wife) Kathye and I were asked by Sy to work this show with him. I got to hang on stage all nite, running up to the kitchen whenever somebody needed something. I think I got Donna Jean some tea. After the show we clean up and head over to the hotel, and Sy's room. Well thats where the food and booze was so, in walks Mickey, Donna Jean, Keith, Bobby and Jerry! Next thing ya know, Kathye is sitting with Bobby and Garcia talking about who knows what. Me I'm just a little star struck, these are my musical idols after all. I think I've told this story before. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JERRY!

Great story John!

I too was in attendance for that monster show! I barely made it in time as the previous night in Rochester I had car trouble but my trusty Dodge Colt made one last gasp to Binghampton. That whole weekend starting with Colgate had to be one of the best in my life

PS...the car totally died a few days after and spent the entire upstate NY winter in the bar parking lot down the road from my house at the time..

yup- good show!!!

thanks to dso for all you do.

it was a little insane at first. i had to head to the back to get good dance space. major difference between gotv and the house of blues show. "family" vs festival

still had a great time- recouperating from getting in at 4 and 3 am

Don't know where you guys were standing, but I had a rocking time left side in front of the tree! Sound, songs, flow, everything was perfect. As for people not really getting the music? Hmmm, doesn't make sense that "a lot of people really didn't care for the music at all" but you had to move back to get dance space. DSO definitely threw down that they were there to play: they set a standard that was rarely met for the rest of the weekend (though Phil flat out filled!)

The little hot air balloon during Scarlet was very cool! Truckin was the best I've ever heard: anywhere. Probably the best played two sets of music I've ever been privy to see, feel, and hear. I can only hope that it finds its way to archive soon!!!

So wish I could have been there, but I'll agree second-hand... My friends, who knew the Dead and know well the music (and are brutally honest in their music critiques), were there and were raving about DSO, really impressed. They've been to the 'Vibes as vendors every year since the start and they said that not only did DSO do a stellar show, but that the applause for DSO was among the loudest and most enthusiastic they had ever heard at the 'Vibes...
