That is one hell of a setlist....

Wasn't it though??? And as if I weren't Dark Star Struck enough already...

anyone there? Suzy-Q or Kelli?

Thanks much for asking, Lisa! I was SO there (front & center on the rail), but unfortunately, Kelly couldn't make it. We're still holding out hope for Gratefulfest though at Ledges, and I'm pretty sure Kelly & Ty will make the trek to the East coast for some shows.

To Reece: How can I ever express my gratitude & joy in having found such a wonderful tour buddy as yourself? I'll PM you with a list of my music so you can choose some CD's you'd like me to burn for your collection--you need more music!!!

To KDub: So sorry we missed you at Springfield--Deb & I kept asking different people if they knew/had seen you, but guess we didn't ask the right people. But glad you recovered from your nasty bug in time for Annie's.

To ChuckVegas: I think I must be the only one who can rival you when it comes to perspiring at shows. Please don't anyone say it must have something to do with us more "mature" Starheads--I probably know that already... And by the way, a Bird Song told me you were at a show a few days before Springfield???

To 2MuchFun: It was grate meeting and dancing next to you. Thanks for sticking by in the 2nd set when all those "kids" started pushing from behind... Hope to see you down the road again sometime. But I still say NO drilling in the Arctic and offshore. It'll happen anyway--too much pressure from the outraged public.

To AndDave: Ooh that must have really hurt--Do get better really soon. And please take it easy.

To others on the forum who were there: Sorry I didn't make your acquaintance, but maybe if DSO returns next year we could plan better and try to do something pre or post-show for that purpose. My bad.

To Kelly & Ty: Thanks so much for your enthusiastic support in listening to me gush on during the late night phone call. Couldn't help it--state of euphoria that lingers still.

To Taper Ron: Can't thank you enough for the nudge and the impetus behind Reece & I meeting. Haven't heard much from ya lately though, and I hope you're OK. Thanks again for all you do, and I sent you a little anniversary present.

To Dark Star Orchestra: Words fail me miserably, but from the first note to the last, I know as I danced till blisters popped up on the bottom of my toes I must've had this big, stupid grin on my face the entire time. What a set of pipes, Lisa--you are ON it! When John busted out Standing On The Moon and as much I hate cliches, I gotta say I thought I could die happy right then and there (and said so to 2MuchFun). And Barraco, well, your enthusiasm, apparent joy & skill on the keys really do it for me, and I love your singing too. The entire band had to have been more than a little road weary, but it certainly wasn't apparent as they played with wild abandon and all their usual energetic zeal even in the hot, muggy conditions. For me, seeing the band having such fun along with all of us accounts for why I love the experience so.:dsorocks:

Sorry for the long post, but I think I was overdue...

Hugs to all,

Brenda

Wow, did you see me drop to my knees clutching my arm? ... or did you hear from one of the few who were there to see my triumphant return from the ER after the show?

For curious onlookers the official story is that Eaton's singing on the "Ruthie" verse of Memphis was so powerful that he knocked my shoulder out of the socket. "Debutante knows what ya need she says but I KNOW what you want!" I'll never hear that song the same again. I threw my hand up in the air with great alacrity to show my appreciation for Rob hittin' that line, it bein' my favorite line of the song.

...and down I went.

Now, it wasn't totally out of the blue. The shoulder was dislocated twice before, in 1985 and in 1989. Yes I did my exercises... back then anyway. I guess I'll be doing them forever now.

Anyway, BIG THANKS to the staff at the fest in Fort Wayne. Those people were right on top of the situation, kind and gentle, and I cannot thank them enough for their good treatment and speedy action. Likewise the good folks at St. Joseph Hospital. When the doc put the shoulder back in, I felt like a million dollars.

Even bigger thanks to JayB and his crew for help with a place to sleep and so forth. As I said to them later that night, I'm alllllll-most glad it happened cuz of all the good energy that came from it.

Thanks for the kind thoughts Brenda! I'm healing as we "speak".

Hi, anddave,

Nooo, I didn't see that happen at all :o (I was up on the rail all evening), but your buddy bs69 sent you good forum vibes the following day (18th) and also 16 of your forum buddies. You probably missed that one due to your convalescing... Please check out the posts and feel the love here.

Really happy to hear you received such TLC here in Hooterville and also very glad to hear from you and to know you're mending. ...from the strangest of places if you look at it right.

Lots of hurry up & get well wishes,

Brenda
