Comes a Time is simply one of the best songs the GD did..ever! The fact that DSO takes the song and nails it every time is a credit to their deadness...You know what they say about opinions :-)

~ you gotta laugh to keep from crying ~

Roger that.

"while i looked forward to this show, and especially the unique venue, i will admit - right upfront - that i didn't think dso could, or would, put on a better show than the one we went in may, at westbury!"

didn't come close to westbury - but solid show all the same!

i may be in the minority - but i dig it when dso puts on an original setlist (every now and then).

i wasn't there for "comes a time." but even if it was awesome (and i'm sure it was from how it's been described)... i would have loved terrapin in the second set (lets break some rules and repeat a song 2 nights in row??)... but even so, no terrapin - why not st. stephen? or better still, dark star? both equally celestially appropriate to the venue?

and if we need a historical dead show to make it right... pretty tough to find a mid-70's dark star since we had to wait for closing of winterland to get one. but i'm sure there's a st. stephen show to fit the bill?

just sayin... :dsorocks:

No, you're not... we all love the original setlists. I was hoping to get one for this show, but I still loved the show they played...

...just keep going, you'll hear all the songs you want to hear...enjoy the moment as they are often too short and gone before you knew it...

i'll be the first to admit that 77 shows are last on my list.

that being said, 12-29-07 @ the Ram's Head(2-27-77) was one of the best shows i've had the pleasure of seeing.

rundangerously- I think what everyone is trying to get at is that when you see this band enough times you stop caring so much what they play....

chase the moments.

Terrapin, Dark Star, St Steven, Stella Blue, Black Peter, Sugar Magnolia...well, you just can't see them all every night (or morning sometimes). The key is to enjoy whats in front of you and the rest will work itself out. Like I have posted before, for me, most of the time, the only interest I have in the setlist is because I am curious as to where and when it was played by The Dead. I am sure that no matter what the setlist is I am going to have a grate time dancin and there will be a number of songs that will goosebump me. Keep going back and I bet there will be nights that you have seen every song that you wanted to.

Peace,

Joe
