Forum MVP Dstone5553 Posted May 5, 2008 Forum MVP Report Share Posted May 5, 2008 This show's magic for me lay in the Rat>T Stones>Sat night US Blues>Knockin. The Knockin, in particular, had some seriously emotional moments, climaxing in the "Come wipe these tears from my eyes, I can't shed them anymore" stanza. I didn't see a dry eye in the house. Baracco was wearing a Mets jersey last night. However, since I am not holding it against Eaton, I can't see how I can hold that against him. J Alfred Prufrock
I thought there was no real connection between the band members at this show. It could have been me but it really seemed like everyone was tired and just not into it. The setlist was somewhat limiting as well but all in all not a memorable show. jawdoc
Dancin I agree with you about the iron wall at the crystal. The crowd was a little weird though. Some people just wanted up front and didn't care who they ran over. The thing is if they could tap on my shoulder and just smile and say please I probably would let them through. I agree with the over 21 deal as well.

Mohammad
Heck, I say 35 and older. if it was 35 or older i'd still sneak in! you "old people" are right , there are a lot of young dead head's, but i dont think theyre any more a waste of space than you or I because ive been seeing DSO since i was a wee youngin', maybe 13 and i will continue to see them, until i get old just thought i would leave my 2cents

J Alfred Prufrock
I started seeing the Grateful Dead when I was 16. A lot of people thought I was too young to share in the experience. Too young? I think The Grateful Dead are all about eternal youth. I saw as many older people passed out in the parking lot as I saw young people. I encourage anyone of any age to see DSO. It can change your life the way The Grateful Dead changed mine. My five year old has seen them probably 35 times or more. Many times at the Crystal. I will not judge people by age. J Alfred Prufrock
Yeah, I agree with you. I would love to see all alcohol in Lola'a as well. Isn't that the way it is at the Roseland? Not that I prefer the full cavity search you have to go through there . I'm really happy there's no smoking. Perhaps the balcony could be cordoned off for drinking along with Lola's though I have seen it where there is a private party in Lola's at the same time as a DSO show. I think it was last year and it was a wedding. It was really fun to see people dressed to the nines at a DSO show. I was sitting in the back with my boy asleep in my arms so I got to see a lot of people walking out of the show in ties with puzzled expressions on their faces.
