Forum MVP bs69 Posted Friday at 12:58 AM Forum MVP Report Share Posted Friday at 12:58 AM Turnovers and special teams were the difference. Love Freeman as a coach. Not only a great young coach but a really good guy. When he was at UC a couple of his boys played football with my nephew and he was always very nice. SEC best wins are against each other.
Forum MVP BillK522 Posted Friday at 01:24 PM Forum MVP Report Share Posted Friday at 01:24 PM NIL and transfer portal have changed the game. Saban saw this coming and got out. Dominant programs gonna be much tougher to maintain. Hope you are ready SEC fans.
Forum MVP Tea Posted Friday at 01:53 PM Forum MVP Report Share Posted Friday at 01:53 PM To be fair, SEC teams not playing in the CFP probably had a portion of guys sitting out who will declare for the NFL draft, and another basket of players who entered the transfer portal. It's like the wild-wild west out there! Non-revenue sports are going to start to go the way of the Dodo bird at many schools based on the realities of conference realignment. Gotta keep those NIL budgets robust. Hey! Why not let private equity mange school endowments? End-Stage, Hyper-Capitalism sucks for football. Forum MVP 2muchfun Posted Friday at 03:10 PM Forum MVP Report Share Posted Friday at 03:10 PM NIL budget and ACADEMIC scholarship budget should be the same for college “students”. At very least NIL money or NFL should repay the athletic scholarships the “student” athlete receives. 5 times the amount if they do not graduate. All these monies go to academic scholarship fund. Alternatively, NFL has actual minor league and run it as a business…not using academic institutions to do their dirty work.
