Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 14 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14 If Bamas only loss or even one of two losses was that embarrassing loss to Oklahoma then sure let’s put them in the playoff. They didn’t have a playoff worthy resume this year. It’s okay they one of the first 2 to 4 teams out even with 3 losses. No one is truly saying all the teams in the playoff are better than Bama. But results have to matter. If Bama loss to Mercer and only had one loss its tough to put them in the top 12. It’s not just that they lost to Oklahoma, they got handled dominated by Oklahoma. Georgia Texas Oregon does that to you we still consider you for the top 12. Oklahoma UCLA Purdue or any one of the many mediocre and average teams does that to you, you’re pretty much out. Bama isn’t even the SEC team with the most legit argument that they screwed out of the playoff. I’m not saying a 3 loss team can’t get into the playoff from any conference but arguing for a 3 loss team that got left out is fanboy shit. They have 2 losses they are in. It’s that simple. You have to perform on the field or you leave it up to the committee. They certainly didn’t leave no doubt. And the SEC is blessed by how deep it is. They are allowed more losses and still considered. If Indiana had 2 losses, can you honestly say they’d be in the playoff. They could not by any stretch of the imagination get into the playoff with 2 losses. The SEC benefits from losses to Bama Ole Miss Georgia Texas if close almost being considered a positive not a negative.
Forum MVP Rude Posted December 14 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14 Oklahoma is 26 in the FPI metric. I’m sorry that Purdue is considered a middle team in the B1G tge fact is the more hard teams you play the more chances of a loss and Oklahoma with their 6-5 record lost a lot but you don’t wanna play them. Forum MVP 2muchfun Posted December 14 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14 I wonder what would happen if the committee took into account other pertinent team stats such as GPA, graduation rates, and % of players with arrest records. After all they are “student” athletes lol. Has been a joke a long time. It’s strictly business.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 14 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14 Tennessee Ole Miss Texas South Carolina LSU all beat Oklahoma by more than 2 scores. Ole Miss and South Carolina probably have better arguments to be included in the top 12 than Alabama. I just don’t see a true top 12 team all that worried about facing Oklahoma. I’m not saying we can varsity blues it and go to strip club the night before the game. But prepare and show up and you win. And I assume Vanderbilt is a scary team too. Forum MVP Rude Posted December 14 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14 If Indiana played and beat Oklahoma it would be their best win along with SMU and Penn state. Indians and Smu didn’t beat 1 ranked team all season. Bama beat
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 15 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 15 Penn State beat USC and by your beloved FPI rankings they are well ahead of Oklahoma. SMU beat Louisville also well ahead of Oklahoma in the FPI. If your issue is that SMU and Indiana got in and there are other teams that are more deserving, I can understand that. South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Miami all have solid arguments. Bama does too but to a lesser extent than ole Miss and Miami in my opinion. Clemson beating SMU created a bit of a problem as neither team has that great of a resume but they did play for their conference championship. Forum MVP Rude Posted Saturday at 08:34 PM Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted Saturday at 08:34 PM What a draw Penn state got. An SMU that shouldn’t be in the playoffs then a Boise state that in no universe should have a bye lol. In no universe is Boise the 3rd best team. Indiana and SMU didn’t have 1 win vs a ranked team and both were destroyed. The committee looked at records only and ignored strength of schedule and strength of wins. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted Saturday at 09:24 PM Forum MVP Report Share Posted Saturday at 09:24 PM I love how people are calling a 27 to 17 loss against Norte Dame destroyed but the team that loss 24 to 3 to Oklahoma should be in the playoffs. It’s almost comical.

It’s almost comical. lol you didn’t watch the game. It was 27-3 with 90 secs left. It was long over bro. It was a destruction. Alabama was 3-1 vs ranked teams including beating Georgia. Bama was 3-1 vs top 30 FPI but not AP ranked. That’s 6-2 vs top 30. Indiana was 0-1 vs top 30 FPI. I get you hate bans and you aren’t rational because of that but bans played 8 top 30 teams. Indiana 1. Trying to compare the 2 teams is silly. Bama is rank 4 in the FPI. They would have been favored by 10-12 over Indiana
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM Forum MVP Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:01 AM I don’t hate Bama. I hate dynastic privilege. The way you talk about Bama they shouldn’t even play games until the playoff. Their record doesn’t matter. How many points were they favored over Oklahoma? I am aware that Alabama has more talent and is a better team than Indiana. They probably win 9 out of 10 games against them. You can’t hit the strip club and do blow all night and expect to win any game. Indiana’s kids definitely had more discipline. They won games they should’ve lost. They prepared well and executed. Week in and week out they showed up. Their kids are definitely more mentally tough than Bamas kids. That may be a reflection of the coach. Saban doesn’t lose that Oklahoma game. And boom Bama is in the playoff. Do you honestly believe the best team always wins? I’m not just talking about games but championships. High level sports aren’t always won by bigger stronger faster but by those that prepare and play for each other and a lot of the times get lucky and avoid injury. I’m done with the Bama talk after this they didn’t get in and in my opinion didn’t deserve to get in. They weren’t even the most deserving snub in the mighty SEC in my opinion. I will easily acknowledge that Bama talent wise is top 10 in the country. On any given Saturday with the right game plan and the right attitude and attention to detail they can beat anyone. Indiana is probably at best a top 30 actual team in the country and would lose to 25 plus teams if those teams brought their best game. Even if Indiana brought their best game. I will also tell you this years Indiana team brought their best game week in and week out. That means something and should mean something. There is a reason we play the games. Alabamas team did not. The year the Raptors won the championship does anyone actually believe that Golden State wasn’t the best team. If Durant is healthy, you really think they lose to Toronto. But we can’t just crown the best team on paper with the title at the beginning of the year we have to play the game. If bama brought the level of focus and intensity they brought against Oklahoma against Indiana, they lose. You satisfied, talent wise your boys, Alabama, top 10 all day. Indiana talent wise isn’t even top 25. That doesn’t change the fact Indiana deserved in and Alabama deserved out. Fuck if we just doing things off paper, week 1. Let’s just line up my Eagles against the Chiefs and crown a Super Bowl champion.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM Forum MVP Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:17 AM I mean for all the small guys out there. Just because his is bigger than yours doesn’t mean he going to take better care of your lady. You’re focused prepared. Hell if your lucky he did too much blow and has no viagra. Size and talent aren’t the only thing that matters when it comes to winning.
Forum MVP Rude Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted yesterday at 01:29 AM Dynastic privilegE? They played 8 of the top 30 in the FPI. Tennessee had a way easier schedule and that led to 2 losses. Bama is far superior to Tennessee
Forum MVP bs69 Posted 20 hours ago Forum MVP Report Share Posted 20 hours ago All blowouts in the first round, didn't look like SMU and Tennessee were ready to play in Big Ten country in December Unfortunately due to the way they set up the bracket, the two best teams are playing in the quarterfinals
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted 17 hours ago Forum MVP Report Share Posted 17 hours ago Tennessee beat Bama heads up. Bama wins that game they in the playoffs. At the end of day you have to handle your business. Any one of their losses had been wins they’d be in playoff. Really tough to say Bama more deserving than a Tennessee team they lost to that had less losses from the same conference. Ohio State worked Tennessee over. You called the Notre Dame game a beat down. Your SEC team got mollywopped by Ohio State. That was an embarrassing representation of the SEC. I just can’t see how you argue that TN is even as good as Indiana after that beat down. Fortunately for you and your SEC should get 6 teams nonsense Georgia and Texas look legit and both have a chance to win this whole thing. Texas should handle Arizona St easily. Notre Dame might give Georgia a game for a bit but I expect Georgia to win.
Forum MVP BillK522 Posted 11 hours ago Forum MVP Report Share Posted 11 hours ago Seems the loss to Michigan got OSU focused. They looked good last night. Game vs. Oregon should be entertaining.
Forum MVP Tea Posted 10 hours ago Forum MVP Report Share Posted 10 hours ago Those 1st round games were dog food. That SMU 1st half may have been the worst performance I’ve ever seen from a football team. High stakes game to boot. Indiana was clearly not ready for primetime. That coach was as tight as a drum all game. Clemson got pushed around all nite long save for a couple plays late. Tennessee wasn’t ready for the moment. Makes me think OSU just forgot to try when they played Michigan I don’t care about all the conference talk - I just wanted competitive games. Instead, I got coal in my stocking 👎
Forum MVP Dead duck Posted 10 hours ago Forum MVP Report Share Posted 10 hours ago So far it seems that playoff expansion was not needed. The teams at the top are just picking out of better/bigger pools of players than the Indianas, SMUs and Tennessees.
