Back four of the first got a nice

roll going into the break.

Feelin Groovy woven in lovingly.

A syrupy slow Loose Lucy.

The back of the second delivered

with additional gusto, WRS Gold Star.

Drive home a snow globe adventure.

Thanks Band and Crew.

See you in Pittsburgh.

Praise DSO.

question for any deadologists:

what happened to jerry on this night in '73?

anyone know anything?

2nd set after lucy, garcia didnt hit the mike again for an hour following 5 straight weir songs (which btw were all crushed---truckin/other one/weather report suite/let it grow/sugar mag. garcia did slip in a 2 minute instrumental nobodys fault.).

pretty amazing sequence.

and weird (no pun...).

never seen that.

thats some stuff.

Wish I knew.  We do know this show was originally billed as ‘3 sets of the Grateful Dead.’  Unfortunately, during Casey Jones, a security guard started pounding on a fan for crossing over the front barrier.  Billy jumped in to break it up and started getting pummeled himself.  We get the famous bark from Phil:  Ok, asshole, Ok asshole, you’re through!”  Hard not to have something like this take the wind out of your sails.  The effort on Saturday Night confirmed as much and they threw in the towel.

I postulate that the reason for the long Bobby run is because it was going to be Jerry’s turn for a long run in set 3.  I can only imagine what he may have had in store….
