PortlandHead
Hey folks- I'm seeing a couple links for a show on Jan 31st at Del Mar and a show at the Roseland in Portland on Feb 15th 2025. I was surprised to see that the Portland ticket is going on sale in a week. But these shows arent showing up on the DSO tour schedule. Just wondering if anyone has an inside scoop on this west coast tour or when it might be officially announced? Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Rude Posted October 12 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 12 That’s happened before. Sometimes venues release dates before they are supposed to and we’ve been able to sleuth an idea of where tour will be. Guess west coast winter. Back in the day, it was Midwest winter but ice could make it rough. West coast makes more sense although I remember driving from Cali to Tahoe and were lucky to make it there with heavy snow falling and were lucky the band made it as they cancelled one a few years ago. count2
2 nights in Seattle is a pleasant surprise! Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Island Bro Posted October 17 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 17 Indeed… I'm still surprised by how few double headers (and triple headers, for that matter) show up in the different tours… multi-night runs seem so clearly advantageous for everyone involved on both sides of the rail, besides being a reflective methodology of the original Grateful Dead experience… meanwhile,,we’ll joyfully take whatever we can get,,even when it means scurrying to pack up and leave a room by noon or so and hit the road to get to the next show…! But yeah,,been quite a few years since a double doozy in Seattle..:they had locked into Portland for that going into Covid but each tour seems to toss out its own surprises…. nice carrot to have dangling out there going into the dark/wet season…🤠 1 Quote Link to comment

I'd be much more likely to travel for shows if there were 2 or 3 in the same place. I've been surprised that Portland hasn't had a double header these last few years, but glad to see it happen closer to home this time around. Also surprised there is no stop at the Warfield this winter. I'm heading to Chicago soon and usually I'd be able to catch DSO at the Vic this time of year, so no fall Midwest is a bummer, too. The Northeast is definitely winning out overall. Quote Link to comment
