I always liked how he described Garcia after his passing and how people tend to grow into legendary status as they are remembered over time. Crosby said that Garcia really was that great of a man when he was alive. I feel the same about David Crosby. I’ve felt that his 1971 solo album, “If I could only remember my name” (which Jerry, Phil, Mickey and Billy contributed musically to and Jerry actually helped arrange and produce), lands in the category of one of the finest albums made.
