Forum MVP bs69 Posted September 4, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 4, 2022 Another season off to a great start. How about those games down in North Carolina? NC ST got extremely lucky, felt terrible for that ECU kicker and App St. v UNC was crazy! Georgia looks ready to roll again, very impressive. ND held up pretty well against the Buckeyes, I think Freeman will do just fine. My Bearcats lost a tough one at Arkansas but I thought they held up well on the road against a good SEC team, nothing to be ashamed of just need to clean up a few mistakes. Forum MVP Rude Posted September 4, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 4, 2022 I was shocked that Ohio state didn’t rout ND. Ohio state has the most loaded offense in the country. I don’t know about Ryan Day. Osu has been an extreme letdown the past few seasons. They recruit as well as Georgia and Bama and those 3 are only 3 teams in that elite recruiting group. Well actually 4 now since A&M has the highest paid group of freshmen and the number 1 class. That App state game was insane. I paused it after they missed the 1st 2 point conversion only to see that 4 plays later each had scored a TD. There were 3 TDs in a 22 second span. Is that a record? Nutty finish. i just finished watching Florida v Utah this morning. That was a tough game to beat. On 4th down, Richardson of Florida avoids a sack at the 15 and must get the ball in the end zone and does it. Then Utah moves down the field with the help of 4 timeouts along with a clock error that stopped the clock for them and they throw an int from the 3yd line to seal the game. Wow. Georgia looked better on offense than last year, albeit weaker on defense considering 3 D line guys were drafted in the 1st round with picks 1, 17 and 31. That’s a huge talent drain. They are still loaded with NFL talent but they won’t have college’s best all time defense like last year. This was the 5th time in the last 16 games they didn’t allow a TD and the 13th time they didn’t allow a rushing TD. Wow.
Forum MVP Rude Posted September 5, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 5, 2022 Wow. Just finished the Florida state LSU game. There was a lot of talent on that field. Crazy crazy finish. Deep into the rule books to finish the game. Player didn’t get OB with 1 sec left like the play was called. It was then overturned which should have ended the game but b/c it was a review after the 1st down clock stoppage, then the clock starts on the snap and not the whistle. LSU had to go 50yd in 20 secs with no TOs and did it then missed the XP for overtime. Well FSU blocked the XP as the TE let a dude come through his hole blocking a guy further away. 2 evasive running QBs made for one of those games where anything can happen on any 3rd and long. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted September 10, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 10, 2022 What a lucky and dirty ass win by Alabama. They don't intentionally hurt Ewers and they lose that game. You know it I know it everybody know it. Should be a new number one next week.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted September 10, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 10, 2022 Lots of high ranked teams going down week 2. This could be an interesting year for college football.
Forum MVP Rude Posted September 11, 2022 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 11, 2022 Kentuckys defense looked solid against Florida. We’ve had 4 DL guys drafted over the last few years so I didn’t expect us to smother Florida like that at Florida. steve sarkisian turned Texas around quickly. That defense looked great. Jimbo fisher only had the number 1 recruiting class plus another couple top 5 ones and he can’t do crap. He’s a horrible coach. A&M bought the best players there were to buy and the giant killer app state still took them down.

Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted September 10, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 10, 2023 I know Bama had a 2nd half lead but seriously, Texas played a complete game. Had game in control from the jump. They looked to be classed above Alabama. QB play wasn't even close but what really blew my mind is Texas control the trenches on both offense and defense. Ewers may be moving up the draft charts.
Forum MVP Rude Posted September 11, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 11, 2023 Bama and Ohio state will have serious growing pains without their 1st and 2nd draft picks at QB but luckily Ohio state avoided the pitfall of playing a legit opponent On 9/9/2023 at 9:20 PM, Tom Banjo said: Bama just isn't Bama anymore. well bama had their best recruiting class in history with 9 5-star recruits which is over 4 times more than the entire Big 10 recruited combined. They do lack an elite QB, but with that mega recruiting class, they will definitely stay upper echelon https://247sports.com/Season/2023-Football/CompositeTeamRankings/
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted September 11, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 11, 2023 With the new transfer portal crap, who knows if that class is intact when it matters. Freshman aren't going to win championships. I'm sure Bama will be okay but it's like what happen to Sunday Tiger in golf. There was a time if Tiger had the lead entering Sunday it was over. He knew it. We knew it but most importantly, the other golfers knew it. The were so engulfed with the mystique of Tiger they forgot to compete. Bama used to win their games before they started. We was afraid of big bad Bama. Now that's Georgia. We not scared of Bama anymore. If we a top 40 team, we now believe that if we execute and play our game we can beat Bama. They now have to win games on Saturday. They gonna have at least 2/3 losses this year. SEC ain't no joke.

What bama did for so long won’t be matched. They are still a perennial top 5 program. Players win championships and they will continue to get them. Playing other top 10 teams and expecting to win all isn’t realistic and next year comes Texas and Oklahoma.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted September 17, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2023 Georgia might be putting together a run like Bama did maybe even a greater run. They going for a three pete. Bama never did that. Now back to Bama. What the fuck is going on Tuscaloosa. I may be a Bama hater but that haterade stems from the consistent excellence Alabama displayed week in and week out for 15 plus years. They looked poorly prepared for this game. Lacked focus. Something that even in losses you never really said about a Nick Saban coached team. Yes they won but what an underwhelming and uninspiring victory. Down 3 to USF at end of first. Tied at half. Come on. I'm not trying to trash USF too hard but they aren't in the same stratosphere as Alabama. Alabama has some real questions/problems at the QB position. Really tough to win football games with out at least consistent reliable QB play. Fortunately for them, we have college football free agency and some teams end up loaded at QB so NFL quality players end up transferring. Maybe the Manning boy leaves Texas for Bama. Who knows? I don't see next years QB on this years team. Now on a different college football subject, how bout Coach Prime and the Buffs. So I get off my flight from Philly and decide to grab some sexy pizza on way home from airport. I hadn't even really been following the games today. Yesterday my brother got married so we've been traveling for the wedding and we spent the day at Smith Memorial Playground and Playhouse in Fairmount Park on Saturday cause our flight home wasn't until 820 PM. This place was one of it not the best park I've ever taken my kids too that didn't cost money and start with theme water or amusement before park. Stuff for all ages. Both kids had a blast. All right. Aside over back to football. I get out of the car at the Sexy Pizza. I hear some raucous cheers coming from a bar across the street. Joke to Whitney that bar is hopping. Still no clue what's going on. But they got game on in sexy pizza and I finally put it together. CSU is up 11 with like 8 minutes left. Just sacked shadeur sanders. They look like they got game in hand. Sanders gets enough yards back on the next play for the Buffs to convert what looked like a pretty easy field goal. But they down 8 with 7 minutes or something like that to go. I still have like an hour drive to get us home from airport so I don't actually stop to watch game but follow on my phone rest of way home. They get pinned on the 2 yard line with a touch over 2 minutes left. Things are still looking pretty good for CSU. I trust my team to hold them or force them to run out of time in that scenario most of the time. And hell they have to score twice really cause they need the two point. Sanders takes them 98 yards for the score. Converts the 2 point. Buffs win in double overtime. Sanders has got to be getting some Heisman love for sure. And if the keep winning and he wins the heisman this will definitely be one of those games and one of those drives that defines that heisman run. Crazy how that game went with all the drama leading up to it. CSU almost knocked Deion sunglasses right off his face but instead Deion is left smiling hat and sunglasses on, triumphant.
Forum MVP BillK522 Posted September 17, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2023 Patrons at the casino were locked in on CU/CSU. Bigger college football story than the recent demise of the A. Praise DSO.
Forum MVP Tea Posted September 18, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 18, 2023 The 10p kick for CU v CSU was tough so I bowed out at halftime. Sounds like an amazing finish! Oregon will have something for Colorado - hoping for a close game. If the Buffs lose, it will be interesting to see how Deion handles it. Forum MVP Rude Posted September 30, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 30, 2023 Kentucky gets no respect. Top 20 recruiting classes year after year. Yeah they get the SEC effect where the top players want to play top teams but still they are recruiting some studs. Lots of defensive players drafted over the last 5 years. 4-0 to start the year and not ranked. Let’s see if they can hold this 23-0 lead vs Florida and they will catapult up. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted October 1, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 1, 2023 Kentucky should move up into the rankings. Their problem is they will definitely drop a few games in SEC. They need a marquee win over a top 5/10 school to get some real respect.
Forum MVP Rude Posted October 2, 2023 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 2, 2023 Oh Kentucky isn’t going anywhere. They have Tennessee, Georgia, Bama and then South Carolina and Missouri are toss up games. 8-4 is a likely result going 3-4 to finish. this year a Washington or USC or Oregon could be a legit playoff team. It’s been a while since the pac 12 had a team that could actually compete vs the actual big dogs. I took advantage of my legal Kentucky betting signup $200 free bet on Bama -16.5 which seemed way high but they covered pretty easily. I did hedge it with a $50 bet the other way as I was gonna leave with money for sure. What’s funny is meili doesn’t gamble but set her up and acct and hedged every free bet on draftkings and she cashed an extra $250 from the over the top signup and referral bonuses. She was skeptical about my plan but I just bet both teams with each free bet. She thoufht that was boring so dropped her a bet on Dallas and also the hapless Eagles who didn’t cover of course.
