That was about as boring as it gets which ended up being a good thing as my violin friend and I got to continue working on Evangeline>Pancho>One More Cup of Coffee and got to add a Forever Young>IKYR>Senor>Sandman (America), due to Washington's QB not showing up, but hell it was supposed to be a championship game, WTF

I think Green Bay’s coaching and game plan was key to the win. Coin toss helped too. Start the game with a long drive and a touchdown, Dallas is starting in a hole. Coming out of the half, Dallas had a couple of long sustained drives but they were already way down. Where’s the sense of urgency? There seems to be a weirdness to the NFL and how things turn out. Makes me wonder if the gambling isn’t having an effect on the league. Of course, working for Jerry Jones seems to be less than fun.

That was the worst loss I’ve seen. McCarthy is done. Even if the offense wasn’t trash the defense allowed 6 TDs on 7 drives. It’s funny but the pick 6 actually helped Dallas. It was 3rd down with 2 mins left. A punt or int and tackle would have let Green Bay run the clock and possibly score. Getting the ball back let Dallas score to end the half. The defense of Dallas killed us every loss. We let a winless Arizona score 5 straight to start. 49ers had 4 TDS on 1st 5 possessions. Eagles 4tds on 1st 6 and Green Bay was the worst allowing 6 TDs on 7 drives. There was this nonsense talk about how our defense was so amazing. It sucks. I had Aaron jones over 74.5 rushing in 4 parlays and straight bets I thought it was such a lock. And Dallas evidently plays cover 3 zone for the 1st time all year and let 2 guys be completely uncovered for mega gains. Pathetic.

So I fire the entire coaching staff. I let hurts know that he hasn't earned franchise QB status. Hell I let all the starters know that they have to earn their spot next year and I don't mean their starting spot I mean roster spot. All positions are an open competition. You wanna play like dog excrement I'll treat you like excrement and probably shovel your ass into the trash can. That was pathetic. You represent the city of Philadelphia. Blue collar. Hardworking. Don't quit. But you didn't represent us. That's not who Philly is.

You just gave him a $255mil 5yr contract this season. You are stuck with Hurts for a while. Your coach has to go. You started 10-1 and lost 6 of 7 to finish. Kelce is retiring. You have an amazing young core of defensive guys. You need Mike Tomlin. He’d have your defense playing to their potential. The cowboys reverted to their 2020 defense that started the worst in NFL history. 5 straight games allowing 35+ culminating with the Browns running for 330yds scoring 49 and it was the worst teams in the nfl scoring that much. The interceptions from bland and Diggs masked the problem and it reared its ugly head in every loss this year.

technically by NFL rules you can’t cut hurts or you would be WAYYYY over the salary cap.

I've rarely seen such a precipitous in-season tailspin than what the Eagles just went through.  It was the confluence of a lot of things, I'm guessing.  Putting Matt Patricia in charge of the defense will be something Sirianni would like back.  Also, it would not surprise me if you find Hurts going under the knife in the offseason to deal with multiple injuries.  He just didn't look right as the season wore on.  Some of it could also be teams having enough film on Hurts to successfully scheme against his weaknesses.

Whatever the reason, it looked to me like a team that had given up on their coach.  Winning is the great deodorant - when it's goin good, you can overlook some smoke.   When stuff like this happens, players and fans can turn on you quickly.  Not sure how you bring Sirianni back.  There is a remote possibility that we could we see coaching vacancies in the entirety of the NFC East!            Wow!

Dallas has to give up on McCarthy.  You've seen his best, and it's simply not good enough.  Belichik in Big D?  As long as Bill doesn't want GM duties, it might just happen.  He's at a point now where he just wants to break Don Shula's win record and then ride off into the sunset.

I'm not gonna pencil in a win at home for Detroit against Tampa, but it is an awfully good situation for the Lions.  If Detroit can make Tampa pay for their jailbreak blitzes, they have a legit shot for the privilege to get smoked by the 49'ers.

We can't cut hurts without serious cap consequences but QB on a rookie deal doesn't cost much. Open competition est  your job. Or I play the rookie. 10 weeks in he was an mvp candidate then it looks like he quit on his team in his coach. I don't start the players.

Diving back into this thread from three years ago feels like uncovering a time capsule of football memories! It's remarkable how the sport has evolved since then, with new stars rising and old legends etching their names further into history. Remembering the excitement of seeing your Bengals perform well and the thrill of rooting for the Cincinnati Bearcats brings a warm nostalgia. And while our focus may have shifted over time, the enduring passion for football remains unchanged.

I love the Saquan pick up for my Birds.

Giants fans are all butt-hurt but the team didn't even offer him a contract for 2024-2025 - LOL!  What, was he supposed to play for free?  He gets 3-yrs, 38M with 26M guaranteed, with a 11.6M portion as a signing bonus from the Eagles.  Oh - because he went to a rival?  Business of the NFL.

I think the Eagles overpaid but it's a great situation for Saquan given the talent around him.  Eagles fans just hope that Sirianni doesn't spit the bit on this one.

We will see if they overpaid. Running backs have to fight for every penny much more so than most of the other positions. Saquan is gonna get us over 1500 scrimmage yards and 12 scores this year. We won't feel we overpaid in year 1. I'm predicting over 200 scrimmage yards in first game against Giants.

He can also receive out of the backfield.  If he's productive and plays ~12 games per year, I think the Eagles will realize the value of the contract.  26M guaranteed for a RB with an injury history and his running style seems a little rich.  That said, with the salary cap where it is for '24-'25, a 26M guarantee is not as much of a hit as it was even 3 years ago.

Not a fan of any teams in the NFC East but Barkley seems like a guy to root for

I’m so glad Jerry jones is going all in this year shooting for a superbowl! Unfortunately he set his calendar wrong and Dallas was the only team who didn’t sign a player in the legal tampering period. We only lost 4 starters so far. But we also have an extra 7th round pick Booyah. Yes we traded our 4th rounder to the 49ers for a failed QB in Trey Lance and added 5mil guaranteed to our books this year. But we have 3 draft picks out of the 1st 200!!! That will be our all in.

It sounds like there's a lot of excitement and anticipation for the upcoming football season, especially for Dallas Cowboys fans! Despite some setbacks, like missing out on signing players in the legal tampering period, it's great to hear that Jerry Jones is going all in for a Super Bowl run. With a few losses but also some gains, like an extra 7th round pick, there's still plenty of hope and optimism for the team.

All we need to be successful is to draft what turns out to be the best player in the 1st 3 rounds and that once a decade 7th round pro bowler. Jerry jones is being sneaky signing no one who’s le letting starters leave. It’s deception and 4D chess. His horrible 2023 draft class will now become 1st and 2nd team all pros. He wanted them to all come along slowly and for the ones that are injured use his surgeon that will make them even faster!!!! He plays the long game. 29 years and back to the superbowl.
