Forum MVP BillK522 Posted December 31, 2020 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 31, 2020 Tuesday night BDP7 ushered out 2020 a couple days early with a New Years extravaganza. An additional set of music was added to the itinerary, stretching the on stage time to around 4:15. Music ended around 2:15, and show debriefing and general silliness continued until 7:30. Hardpan
You’re like Rocky training out in the wilderness for the big fight, for when DSO festivities can resume. Looks like a great time, nice selections! Happy New Year, Bill 😎

Forum MVP Rude Posted January 5, 2021 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 5, 2021 I heard a rumor you were taking your dead dance party on the road. I suggest you rent large ballrooms or armories and do them 20% capacity. Charge $10-15 a head. BYOB with a corkage fee as trying to get permits in different towns would be a pain. Peeps are desperate for music right now. You need to do states that allow gatherings which pretty much eliminates the northeast. I’d suggest Midwest. Do 3 day runs. Get a Uhaul and rent a decent PA and do Thursday-Saturday shows. Columbus, Cincy, indy is a good start as a test. Promote it on Facebook and dead forums. Shoot for 100-200 peeps. 100 would prob be a break even considering travel and pa rentals if you went super cheap. Venues are cheap to rent right now. Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted January 6, 2021 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 6, 2021 Why not take a page out of the Dead’s playbook. Show up with your sound system set up on the back of a flatbed truck? Plug into a generator in a soundproof box on the truck. That would cut down on hiss and rumble. Dolby! You could hit all the Walmart parking lots, get Deadheads to follow you around the country. Spring and fall east coast tour. Bay Area over the holidays, new year’s run. Stadium parking lots in the summer. It’s worked before.

Peeps prob won’t follow a speaker around the country. He could also do a “Taco Tuesday” with him as the entertainment but peeps don’t stick around those too long after they hit the underground weed markets. But in Florida they Eventbrite Tix for like $20 and tons show up. Crazy how those go on weekly. Nice racket.
