The problem with statistics is they are so easily manipulated and the statistics we are dealing with here are not very accurate. Everything is a guess. We could have an extremely dangerous problem on our hands or we may be overreacting in a way that is crippling our economy. Think about this,  China is returning to normal and is going to be ahead of the curve economically getting back to normal

China likely hid true numbers.

within 2 weeks New York State will be to 1000+ deaths in a day. The people dying now were infected march 1st on average before any measures were taken. It’s going to be bad in a few weeks. In 2-4 weeks it’s going to be bad in California as well as middle America.

Hopefully California put restrictions in place just in time.  We shall see.  We'll also see whether there's an inherent differences between NYC and CA (be it density, lifestyle, time when restrictions were enacted, or whatever).  And then we'll see if the rest of country's reluctance to put further restrictions bites us and how hard.  But to take this less than as seriously as possible is mind boggling stupidity.

Here's something to consider about Trump that would be almost funny if it wasn't.  He proclaims himself a "wartime president", undoubtedly just because that moniker makes him feel important. Well, if he eases up on this thing prematurely he's going down as a wartime leader favoring retreat. More Neville Chamberlain than Winston Churchill, if you will.

we Got our first case in Kent county yesterday. A kid from Washington college had it then went to a party. More to come.

Family friend? Hope everyone stays healthy,  just wondering if anyone has been personally affected yet. I haven't heard from anyone that knows anyone that has been infected

If they close the golf courses,  that would be going to far. Pretty easy to keep 6' apart on the golf course.

Well  they've done it here. For some twisted reason they've deemed golf nonessential. I got one last 9 holes in this evening. No carts, no rakes,  no need to touch the pin,  never got within 10 ft. of my playing partners. Good exercise and no spread risk.

I think plenty right now are being cautious to even admit that they've been sick in any way or think they might have had it - Not knowing what quarantine shenanigans we all might have to face going forward is scary...

I’ve been smoking herb and cigars like a chimney. I got a touch of a smokers cough. Whenever in public I refuse to let myself cough or blow my nose or even sneeze if I can avoid it. The social stigma of being sick is kind of crazy right now.

I sneezed in the market today. You’d swear I was a rapist they way everyone looked at me.

Colorado shut down. Seems everywhere I go people taking this seriously even those of us who don’t agree with it.

I think people don’t want to admit the plan isn’t working as they hoped so they claim we not listening. I couldn’t get a group of 9 friends together right now if I tried.

However, I must admit what’s really making me laugh right now is the celebrities who do get it (clearly were not taking this serious) turn around to tell all of us who are taking it seriously to take it serious. It’s laughable.

Here's the problem. Ohio went on lockdown Monday. Just prior to going on lockdown they said we should reach our peak in late April. Now we've been on lockdown and today they say the peak will be in mid May. This tells me the earliest they are going to set us free is June. That's a long time to keep Americans on lockdown. You are going to end up with a lot of mental health problems,  domestic violence issues,  people sitting in their houses getting wasted all day. The only exercise we can get is walking or riding a bike in the neighborhood, unfortunately this is Ohio in late March and April and it rains 5 out of 7 days. A lot of problems out of this mess. I have to admit,  I've spent the last 3 hours drinking beer and watching Chappelle show reruns on comedy central. Normally a great day when done by choice,  but somehow not as satisfying today.

Not sure if I'm reading this correctly. But are you saying that people shouldn't be taking this seriously and that current shelter-in-place ordinances aren't a prudent course of action?

get creative. Exercise and camping are some of your only hundreds of options and it’s freaking too wet to camp here. Take up speed walking or pogo sticking. Learn to spit fire or how to crochet. Delve deep into Greek history or read Dostoevsky in Russian. Build a barn or a cat tree. Paint your favorite screen shot from pornhub or make a zombie movie. So many options that don’t involve live music or bars. I accept that There will never be live music again. Accept that and you can move forward with life. Deny truths and you will be stuck in delusion only to continually be disappointed. This is the 3rd act of our lives, a post live music act. I may become a fireman or a deep sea welder or tiktok influencer.

3/12/20. The day the world as we knew it ended. This will reverberate for years if not forever. I was watching a movie last night and a crowd was gathered and the 1st thing that popped in my head was social distancing. Wtf. At this point I don’t see the world going back to what it was. I guarantee concert attendance won’t be what it was. I think huge gatherings will keep people away now. Had to hit the grocery this morning for our weekly run and passed the head shop. They were outside and said open for curbside pickup and had their number posted. Can’t close liquor weed or head shops or the people would riot.
