stdilbert
I decided to go to the shows in Delaware at the Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach. I was just wondering what your thoughts are about the place. Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted August 3, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2019 The cops are strict. Be good or be good at it. The place has four walls but no roof over half of it. That makes it kinda neat for summer beach show. Uneven floor, gotta seek out a good spot to dance or you will appear drunk. The band loves the place. I think they may even be the reason that there’s no roof on half of the place. Skip bombed it off years ago. Pretty sure. Small stage so one drummer show and one night elective is the usual routine but don’t trust DSO. They keep us on our toes, mixing things up constantly. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
stdilbert
Thanks for the info. How are they towards tapers? 1 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted August 3, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2019 I believe it’s ok. I know that the band encourages it. Soundboard is in the back of the room, straight out from the band. Pretty much railed off from the crowd which will be full of people taking up all the spots on the rail there. Personal message Hardpan, he’ll know more than me about taping. 1 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Mango Posted August 3, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2019 I recall it being extremely loud in there.haven't been in a number of years 1 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted August 3, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 3, 2019 I wouldn’t say the band loves it. They always play smoking shows there. Like they used to at the 930. Crowded. Loud. Lots of beer spills. Ive heard it referred to as dowehaveto beach. However they sell out week nights there. They venue takes care of them financially and like I said they always smoke those shows. Definitely worth going. We went last year. We gonna stay in ocean city this year for family time. 3 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP BillK522 Posted August 4, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 4, 2019 One of the smallest venues they play. Always run into friends. They routinely kill it there. Praise DSO. 2 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted August 4, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 4, 2019 Plus you almost guaranteed a one drummer show with some pigpen. I love those shows. However watch Dso figure out how to get 2 drum sets on stage since now 2 of us have mentioned the one drummer aspect. Quote Link to comment

Two drummers minus the beast and other modern drum equipment for a 69 style?? 🤤🤤 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted August 5, 2019 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 5, 2019 That’s so funny. I was thinking the same thing while driving to the beach today. Now that we’re expecting one drummer, they'll somehow change It up to two drummers. One step done and another begun.... Quote Link to comment
btown
Can’t go wrong with a day at the beach, then DSO at night! For what it’s worth, I have been to the last 5 DSO runs at the Bottle and Cork. Other than a bogus parking ticket, we’ve never had issues with the police. We usually stay at Cape Henlopen SP and Uber down and back. Anyone camping? 2 Quote Link to comment
btown
Dewey Beach Brewing Co is just across the street, good beers. There is also a Mexican joint just south of Bottle and Cork, their asparagus tacos are AWESOME and the margaritas are damn good too, MezCali Taqueria! Can’t wait!! 1 Quote Link to comment
