Forum MVP BillK522 Posted August 14, 2018 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 14, 2018 Delicious original. Tasty selections throughout. The STAR cleared out some of the riff-raff, leaving plenty of space to enjoy the ride home. Praise DSO. 1 Quote Link to comment
Hardpan
One drummer, Rob K. playing drums. Enjoyed the Barraco treatment of Good Lovin, out on a four day creep, etc. Dark Star was excellent, got really cool and dissonant after the verse, with Skip pounding out and strumming huge, loud chords and Jeff doing the meltdown style fanning. The Eyes was also good, with the band doing the intense repeating early style ending jam after the Skip solo and bass drop. Interesting song selection, lots of shorter stand alone songs and stuff I haven't seen them play before. Lisa brought down the house on You Ain't Woman Enough and Hurts Me Too. Enjoyed the venue and the area. Looking forward to tomorrow night, my last one until fall. Edited August 14, 2018 by Hardpan Spelling 3 Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted August 14, 2018 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 14, 2018 (edited) the most interesting Box Of Rain I’ve ever seen. Lisa stole the show. I’m so glad I was there to experience it. A fun night of great older songs. Edited August 14, 2018 by Greg from Chestertown Typo 1 Quote Link to comment

Forum MVP Greg from Chestertown Posted August 14, 2018 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 14, 2018 Yea, I was thinking about guys who like the early songs. A night full of them. If that’s what you like, you needed to be there. Dark Star Orchestra is as much of a gift to the world of music as the Grateful Dead. Quote Link to comment
Hardpan
I uploaded this show and the following night's show last night if anyone wanted to listen to them. There are several more recordings also up from this Northeast run if you look through the DSO section on Archive, relisten, etree, etc. https://archive.org/details/dso2018-08-13.nak300.cp4.flac24 4 Quote Link to comment
