Much love and respect to Brother Bill for honoring all unwritten codes and waiting until 12:03 to ensure that the “T” in TIGDH is maintained.

What a fucking beast of a Deadhead you are, man.

He’s got a raging case of integrity. Been suffering from it long as I’ve known him.

ps: also the best hard to handle ever laid down by Jerry!!

8/6/71 would like to have a word about your HTH nominee.  In fact, no discussion is really necessary - 8/6 is just about everyone’s daddy for 1971

Yep, and since '71 is the year for HTH, that's saying something.

Happy Birthday to the pinnacle of my Grateful

Dead shows.  A perfect marriage of venue,

headspace and band performance on a lovely

Saturday afternoon in Palo Alto.  Spent the afternoon

within eyeshot of the Big Man, and had several

looks shoot through me like a lightning bolt.

Inspired performance throughout, ten song first,

only China>Rider set close I saw, 1 of 2 Race Is Ons.

Endless second set, Jerry MIDI breakout, Steve Parrish

handing him a generic white guitar for the Space>Take

You Home.  A dreamy day.

Of all the moments that qualify as a go-to for revisiting any given show, what lights me up about this one is the Brent jam in Big River.  Goes to show you don't ever know...

Wonderland Toronto 6/30/87 Most of the songs had something to do with the border crossing hell people had to go through to get to this show. 1 1/2 hour search of my car. First set Ramble on rose (try to walk the line), think of terror if you give this show a listen.

Esp. second set other one (heat came round and busted...)> china doll (just a little nervous from the fall... it all started to make sense to me) and then cheering us all up with a Dear Mr Fantasy (something to make us all happy) I was once again at peace. I had a D5 and knew the Scarlet Fire was coming out there, had to be there, did the whole tour with a had to be there approach.

Wish I could bring up the set or a link, but at work and just wanted to chime in on 6/30

85/07/01  Merriweather Post Pavilion,  Columbia, MD

Dancin' In the Streets, Dupree's Diamond Blues, Walkin'

Blues, Jack-A-Roe, Brother Esau, Stagger Lee,

Let It Grow>Day Job.

Scarlet Begonias>Fire on the Mountain, Playin' In the Band>

Uncle John's Band>Drums>Space>Dear Mr. Fantasy>

GDTRFB>Good Lovin'.

E:  Satisfaction>Baby Blue.

OCD for 600, Alex.  Follow up at MPP an equally

epic journey,  Opening duo to die for, 16 Dupree's in

1985, most of any year.  1 0f 2 1985 Jack-Roe's.

Day Job, often an encore, a rare late migration to

the first set.  Second set a chunky delight,

Ripped Scarlet>Fire,  wild drums/space segment,

High energy closing duo.  And just for fun, why

not a double encore.  Open wide and say ah.

Praise DSO.
