Having a cardboard sign would probably get you a ticket, serious. The newest biggest building in town is the police station/jail right on the strip with fresh razor wire. They ain't posin'. It's 500 feet or less from the venue and concerts are a good revenue stream for the jail. Quote Link to comment

He lit up a joint and said something to the extent you did. Live free our way or die. He said the whole state is a police state. Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted July 19, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 19, 2017 Learn to duck? I dunno what to tell ya..... we live in a police world. Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted July 19, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 19, 2017 I think we all have memories of Dewey; a couple of them are even fond. I don't see myself going back there again either. Too much of anything can sometimes be too much. The thing I always liked about Hampton Beach was walking out of the venue after the show lit up like a Christmas tree and seeing how the cop cars were too. With their blue and red lights it was just so festive! But it did seem best not to stick around watching all the pretty colors. And when it comes to driving, a designated person really is the better part of valor. The video posted by August West in the other Hampton thread tells the tale pretty well. Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Rude Posted July 19, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 19, 2017 Turns out I was wrong. There aren't enough cops in hampton https://ibb.co/nLKdC5][/url]hd pic upload https://ibb.co/mqpWzk]hd pic upload Quote Link to comment
Taper Ron
Sad commentary, but exactly the kind of information we need in this forum! Thanks! Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Supplicated Velvet Thunder Posted July 20, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 20, 2017 My buddy has been to the cop shop there more than once in a night and is still excited to go see dso there every chance he gets. It's about priorities. I sell patches and trinkets and try to keep my mind as clear as possible so I can remember each moment of each show so only recently have I even had questionably drunken show nights. And a lot of places I can't vend. But when everyone I know talks of this spot as a special highlight..... diamond in the rough? It sounds like EXACTLY the kind of place I love dso playing. It brings the light.... sunny side of the street might be dark but we poke around with exceptional grace and plenty of flailing. See y'all brave ones there bwahahahahaha Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted July 20, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 20, 2017 The Casino Ballroom is a venerable venue whose history goes back to 1899 (thank you, Internet). It is nice to be a small part of well over a century of dancing there! Quote Link to comment

Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted July 20, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 20, 2017 Well, I wasn't there to personally help with construction but I can do a quick online search with the best of them. And I don't know about being the caretaker but that does sound nicer than being a mortician. Quote Link to comment

Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 30, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 30, 2017 Venue is awesome. Beach towns always sucks for cops. One day I'm gonna throw an epic Dewey beach party. Not this year but coming soon. Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 30, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 30, 2017 And to be fair Americans on vacation are disgusting drunks. Yes big time generalizing but if we actually educated kids about drugs. Promoted healthier alternatives to alcohol. Simply provided better structure for the youth as a society. I mean at the end of the day good people don't need cops or laws. Raise good citizens and we can reduce the size of the police quickly. Get so drunk you fall down on the street. Or so jacked up on speed you thrash into my lady. Or drive off the highway into the median cause you can't handle your booze. We gonna need cops. We give them their justification. Just my 2 cents. Look out for your neighbor. Help those who don't know how to party learn. Discourage those that can't party from partying. Teach basic human decency and respect. This problem may go away or remanifest itself. Power is a mother fucker. Quote Link to comment
Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted July 31, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 31, 2017 I believe why people act so hedonistically out of control on vacation is because they don't play regularly in their day to day life. People forget how to play, love and be kind and the ugliness of repression comes out. It is an extreme form of checking out of a world that brings them pain. It is a lack of balance. Thoughts make our world. Thoughts have power, and words even more so, which are sounds on the breath of life. We are all connected on the web of life. Remember to send out love regularly on the Aka web. There is lots of fear and judgement sent out regularly and it creates disease. It can be overcome with love. Quote Link to comment
