Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted April 28, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 28, 2017 I am sure y'all were doing the crawfish shuffle, if not Baker's "Mudbug Strut".
TJed
LOVE the pre-announcement Re-creation shows. I'm totally fine with knowing the show setlist and era in advance, especially when it's such a classic show. Would be thrilled if the band did more of these. Hope everyone had an awesome time in NOLA 4/27/17.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted April 28, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 28, 2017 I think you may be in the minority. Tough to please all I guess but I know many who don't want to know. I really don't care to know but don't care if they announce. Doesn't really matter to me. Tonight gonna be the classic
Forum MVP DesertDead Posted April 28, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted April 28, 2017 Are the pre-announcements made at the show?
Dancin' Fool
The pre-announcement was/ is on the DSO home page under Breaking News. Doesn't really matter...to me anyway. I've even stopped checking the set-up when arriving. Phone? In the car/ hotel! Curious, did the NOLA show run 9:30-1:30?

Sure its fun to count the mikes and listen for era- specific tempos and tones, or study the set-lists, but it's also fun to psych up for a show you love, or make the right choice for your head on a multi-night run. I may hit every DSO show within 2 hours of Boston no matter what they're playing, but I'd travel far to get a show I'd been to back in the day, or one of my favorites from tapes or the archive. Shit, I'd put together a road trip if I knew where all the 60s recreations were gonna be. Of course, pre-announcements could be in an opt-in place on the website, so as not to spoil anyone's fun. Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted May 6, 2017 Forum MVP Report Share Posted May 6, 2017 Or maybe you dress in a specific for that day's array - super hipster for the Sunshine Daydream show , let's say for example, with you striped overalls and multitude of patches.
