Forum MVP bs69 Posted December 21, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 21, 2016 McCaffrey from Stanford, Fournett from LSU and now Linwood from Baylor are all skipping their bowl games to get ready for the draft. While understandable in their situations with injuries, I wonder if this will become epidemic in the coming years and undermine the lesser bowls? How long before 2nd, 3rd or even later round talent starts skipping these games? I think we are seeing the beginning of the end of the bowl system, the only thing that can save it is if all of these lesser bowls disappear and it becomes prestigious to go again. They very well could disappear due to economic viability on their own, but if the playoff is expanded to 8 they have no chance.
