Any other spots we aware of with no booze? I'm gonna be at prob 6-8 shows this summer and not that it would deter me from going at all but it's good to know where I would have to bring a flask in!

I don't think I had one drink at any of the 200 or so Dead shows I attended. I supposed being a taper contributed to that. Now AFTER the shows, that's a different matter.

However, a JGB Warfield show allowed for a pee break and a fresh pint of Sierra Pale Ale (the reference micro brew circa 1990) during a single verse of C'est La Vie. B)

It's gonna be a scorcher in Peoria. Near 100 heat index. Cold beer will sound mighty good :(.

I've been to this venue multiple times for Mule, Umphrey's, and a couple others.  If there is a NO BOOZE policy, it is a new one.  There is always cold beer here.   Usually it's Leinenkugel and Bud products.   I think they'd lose their asses if they didn't serve alcohol.  It wouldn't surprise me if they kept it out of the seating area though.

On the Saranac website it says that dark star is only on from 6-8. This can't be correct can it?

Info is scant but the promoter is Jay Goldberg. Website is Jaytv.com. it says doors at 6 and show at 7.

Yikes! Hopefully by showtime it will be more like 80.

Good to know! I think I read something pertaining to the riverfront in general and not shows in particular. I had to cut back on alcohol but I still like to have 2 or 3 beers per show.

Another good to know bit. 7 is a fine time.

Although not "on" facebook....CEFCU riverfronts homepage which I can see indicate doors @ 6 show @7. Also the hours of the park are 10AM to Midnight (for today Saturday) and most popular hours are from 6:30 to 11:00PM of course the Heartaches are playing tonight lol...happy to say I will find out for myself tomorrow what the DSO skinny will be. Yippie!

  • 2 weeks later...

Did Madison, Chicago, Peoria, Bellvue(Mish, whoa!), and Denver.

Previously I had never seen more than 3 shows of a tour.

It was quite an experience, mostly good to great but I overdosed on Dead music, namely the songs I've never been that into. I've always skipped around when listening to Dead shows at home. I will keep seeing DSO in WI as long as they keep coming around though.
