Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted February 28, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 Great space for dancing. I found the music to move me and flow through me better in the 2nd set but its always a pleasure to dance at this venue here. I wish there was more dancers and less talkers but so much space its easy to just move away and find somewhere else to boogie.
Forum MVP Dead duck Posted February 28, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 Convinced the boys to give up the rail for better sound in the 2nd set. I lacked energy through the first set. Hung by sound area 2nd set and it was a big difference. Viola lee. White rabbit. Stuff dreams are made of. Forum MVP bs69 Posted February 28, 2016 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 Cassidy, It was late and the fingers weren't working right. What a great show. Was just right of the soundboard first set and up front for the second. Pretty good space to move. Fantastic Viola, nice jam in the stranger. Mid sixties in Columbus today, they should switch to the outdoor venue
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted February 28, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 In front of sound board forward didnt look as spacious. Good size crowd last night. Got pushed further back from the sound board then I ever been. Skipped indy last year but been here at least 4 times. Crowd seemed to be the biggest I've seen here. Forum MVP Rude Posted February 28, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 Fantastic venue. Danced with all the space I could want and on carpet to boot!!!! Weak of will, succumbing to peer pressure, I'm driving north instead of the planned south. I get to see another show tonight. Smiles abound

Forum MVP Rude Posted February 28, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 28, 2016 It wasn't really Columbus' fault. It was Columbus projects we were next to. Could happen anywhere in a bad area. As long as space abounds all will be forgiven if not forgotten. On another note, Ohio and Indiana roads suck balls. Habe hit 50 big potholes. Waiting for the tires to blow as I type.

Forum MVP bs69 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 29, 2016 Sorry about that. It was late and it seemed like a task. I was just trying to get it down before forgetting. Actually, I'm not sure if the order is correct or if I missed something
Forum MVP Rude Posted February 29, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 29, 2016 That stranger through unbroken was awesome. Really groovy unbroken. Besides stranger and viola I think I threw down harder to that unbroken than anything else. Play more carpeted venues!! Lmao. If they had carpet at the Vic, it would be a cesspool of disease in the gooey carpet fibers.
Forum MVP bs69 Posted February 29, 2016 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 29, 2016 No doubt, I love that venue once you get in. So easy to move about and find a good spot. The seats on the side are a nice addition for those that can't stand the whole show. Great night, warm enough to walk back to the hotel after. Had 4 newbies from anddave's Lafayette group there and all were blown away.

GermanShepherd
One of my favorite venues, the Eqyptian room is a huge room with surpisingly good acoustics. And yeah, the carpeting along the outside perimeter is exactly what I needed this time around. I find the place to be expensive but once you get past that, it is a well laid-out venue. We were there early and stayed right through to the end. Always a good time.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 4, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 4, 2016 That carpet was epic. The hard concrete last night combined with 6 hour drive really hurt my back and knees. I'm dreaming of more carpeted venues. Maybe I should travel with a rug.
