Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 This will be light for me. I'm jealous of found. I will get the 3 Jubilee. I will shoot for Red Bank, Jim Thorpe, and Binghamton. I'm out for the Capitol. Jenna's sister gets married that weekend. I have crazy thoughts of going to Hampton Beach. I really lost my mind up there for a weekend once. Last time I went, we got lots and lots of rain, but I know that's a mere pipe dream.
Forum MVP August West Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 This tour sets up way better than last years Spring tour. The logistics were all screwed up last year, all over the map. I guess The Palace wasn't available for Albany. One of the better East Coast indoor venues without question. I think The Egg blows, so I won't be making the trek to up there as is the norm. Good to see the McCarter back in rotation, another good venue. JM's first show BTW. I will see ya at those 9 Little Boy Blue. As for Hampton Beach I like the venue but for a " beach town" I thought that place was a shithole. And an unfriendly 5-0 all over the place also. Sure isn't Ocean City. Great seafood place on the way in though. Thats about the best I can say about it. It's a shame that the Casinos that they used to play in AC have all shut their doors, and there's really nowhere left for them down there. That Hilton was one fine place! We had some damn good times down there, especially the weekend at Rick's shore house which is an all- time classic. Lots of music, and lots of golf. But 1st the 3 North Carolina shows. Asheville such a great town!
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 I would love another AC show shore party. Hampton has the advantage that they usually play 2 nights there and they very often end tour there. The last two on tour can be great fun as you don't need to worry about driving to the next town and saving energy for the next show. You can truly let it all hang out. Of course, you can do that at your last show on the tour as well. The police suck in Hampton Beach but I agree the venue is pretty decent and the seafood isn't half bad. Its definitely not the nicest of beach towns. The key to Hampton Beach is not to drive your car the whole time your there. Drive in, drive out. Hotel within walking distance. I will most likely be driving the CRV out for the Jubilee and then have that drive back after the Jubilee. I'm not going to drive away from home after that party and just doesn't make sense to fly back out for the 2 pack. It just makes sense for me to accept this tour is thin for me and enjoy and cherish the one's I get. Hopefully, they hit some of the stops in Colorado over the summer. lafoo
Wow. They aren't playing Burlington, VT this Spring Tour. Probably the first time they have skipped it in many many years. This was unexpected.

Forum MVP August West Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 I love The Cap, except for the slanted floors. Everything else is top- notch. Saw one of my Top 5 DSO shows there when they performed 11-6- 70, which the Dead had played there some 40+ years earlier. It was amazing.

Forum MVP August West Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 ... How about that HUGE venue in Reading ... interesting. .. That venue that your referring to Matt is an arena that holds 7200 for hockey and 8800 for concerts.( Elton John, Cher, Carrie Underwood) There is also another venue which is a theatre that holds 2500 -4500 That's the one they'll play. Still a nice big room.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted January 27, 2016 Forum MVP Report Share Posted January 27, 2016 I'm trying to make it a point to show up at the places when dso plays the larger rooms. Never missed a Peak or Cap show before but unfortunately got some shiz going on those days so we'll have to play it by ear. Hope everyone gets to a ton of shows! PennsylvaniaT-roll
Just curious, what do you doods like/not like about The Egg in Albany?? Obviously the Palace rules, so its tough to compete with that. But I always see the Egg when I go to Albany and its a pretty unique structure, so I'm kind of pumped that I'll finally get a chance to check it out. Who could give me some good info on The Egg? Thanks in advance!
Billy DeLyon
Great to see DSO coming back to Reading, PA. They played a show there a while back which was smokin (I wanna say like 5 years ago). Only 15 min. from my house! The city itself is sketchy but perfectly safe when heads take over. Looking forward to DSO rockin the old Raja Theater!
Forum MVP found Posted February 1, 2016 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted February 1, 2016 The egg is unique but it's just a very strange place. I much preferred the Palace. In the egg, you look down on the stage, which is a weird perspective personally. I just remember not loving that venue.
