First post, first show (Richmond 12/29/15)

Hey everyone, just wanted to say hey and introduce myself. I go by Goop and I'm a bit of a Dead newbie. I'm 32 and have just started getting into the Dead in the last 5 years or so. I followed the Black Crowes and Govt Mule around for the last decade, and that's what really got me from being a casual fan to exploring deeply into the Dead catalogue.

My only Dead concert experience has been Phil & Friends at this year's Lockn Festival. That is until last night. I had been wanting to see DSO for a while now and finally got the chance to go last night. I went in not really knowing what to expect, but I tell you this, I walked out a huge fan of this band. I was blown away by the musicianship. The highlight of the show for me was Loser and Help on the Way>Slipknot>Shakedown. What a way to start of the 2nd set! Anyways, just wanted to say thanks to the band for an incredible show! I sure hope a source pops up on etree!

Welcome and thanks for the review. This is a great place to keep up on shows if you can't get there. Really nice of Ron for keeping it up and to EVERYONE who sees and relays...faster than any freeway...experience, wisdom, and compassion keeps things nice around here, oh yeah a very colorful group of wordsmiths who get to shows.

I was blown away at my 1st show too. Soon you will be booking flights to go on runs. They told me that it would happen but flying to see a show was foreign to me. Well it happened several times. Now when I tell people they are like you flew to go see a concert? They seem perplexed.

Yeah I flew to San Fran to see the Crowes at the Filmore. Most of my friends thought I was nuts, but it was a hell of a good time!

Hey rude..me and 2 of my buddies are thinking of flying from nyc to the VIC theatre on 3/3 and 3/4 I hope it's in the works. But like u said..to fly and see a show is alien to some...it feels so right to us...just feels normal. Happy New Year year friends. Heads all empty and I don't care

I'll be at the 2 Chicago shows. Prepare to be packed in like sardines. The soles on my shoes stuck to the sticky floor and as I made a textbook pirouette, my sole didn't move and ripped off my shoe. At least half of it managed to stay attached and the rest of the night my sole flopped around. Ive destroyed another pair of shoes from DSO shows as well.

I routinely get on jets to see this cover band

Mango they are an extension of the grateful dead, not a cover band. They are more of a reincarnation, like a band beyond description. They are like jehovahs favorite choir. I should really be a poet with these sick similes I come up with.
