If they looking for drinkers, but you just hit your bowl in the lot before heading home house money says they arrest and search you based on smell of Marijuana. I'm sure they mostly hoping for duis but misdemeanor possession generates money for the state just the same.

2/3 ain't bad. Caps and staff offering free water. But DUI checkpoint. In Chicago at the Vic they refused me free water. Had to pay $1 per cup even though I bought a bottle earlier. I just poured it in my bottle and screwed on the cap in my pocket. Bastards. I love both indoor and outdoor Asheville setups. They leave water out so we can drink free and not bother staff. It's sort of funny but 90% of all the friends I've met on tour drink only water at shows but we definitely ain't saints.

What is a tai chi still point?

Does searching for a still point involve being still?

When the show is going best for me, I generally find myself in constant motion (exception possible for drums and space).  This motion is of varying speeds and degrees of control and at times feels very still and at other times feels bordering on out of control.  I hope that helps answer your question.  If searching for stillness, involves being still I'm out.  If your more talking about occupying the spaces between the notes and genuinely appreciating the quieter moments in the music, I think I am in.  The point in the Dew where you can hear a pin drop or the point in stella where the sadness and melancholy can be felt as much in the moments between Jerry's notes as the notes he plays.  These are moments that I love, cherish, and live for.  They are also often the most delicate and the points where the crowd talking or being otherwise disruptive can most easily break my connection and trance.

No stillness at all ! I usually dance 13 miles each night I go to a show.

Tai Chi stillness point is my way of saying there is a slower pace of beauty that will run like the surface of a river. There is the current too, the faster rhythmic place and then there is a slower pace, a quieter (not necessarily more peaceful place) because it exists also in that point of blissoutness. The surface of the river may not seem like it is moving but it is just at a slower pace. I think it may only exist in music of the Grateful Dead with the fusion of melodies the band melds together and there are currents with differing speed that arise. But I am probably a zealot in that perspective. :D

So I looked at my mileage for the dead and co shows. I did 8 miles in Nashville but prob 2 miles of that was actual walking. I did 8,8,10 and 11 miles at last New Years run(rich,Phil,dcx2). Unfortunately had my old phone at poca and BM so no data for that or Chicago. I had to have done 15 each day at BM. I was in peak shape after walking 5 miles a day at the beach and 2 poca shows a week b4 and let go fully. It was actually sort of tough to dance at dead and co. Tons of room but so many tourists there and low energy. Meili was like why isn't anyone dancing. So many there b/c friends likely pushed them to be. There were maybe 10 spinners total at that show and people looked at them like they were nuts. You don't get that at DSO shows. Much more per capita energy and almost all true heads and the tourists are so few that you can let go fully. I didn't feel comfortable in the big arena with so many stares and dick head security that would come talk to me every time I got too out of hand in the aisle. it was Nashville which is not a heady town at all
