Dance party was impressive. cracking the top 5 at that dance off is a tough feat. Thank you all you beautiful people for sharing that incredible energy. I couldn't do what I do without all of you. Thank you DSO. My cup is full. I will be satisfied for 2 weeks than the 6 week break will get to me. See you in Eugene.

Couldnt ask for a better 2 days as far as weather/venue/music. Just perfect. Will definitely be back to black mountain. 2nd set last night. Just wow. Visions seemed to me to bring a much needed breeze between the other one and viola lee and was just beautiful

This event is definitely growing in popularity. Biggest crowds I've seen at black mountain. Next year they may have to move that fence out a bit. Hard to believe for an outdoor show but at times flail space was at a premium. Really fun time, great to see and hang with everyone. Might take a day or two to recover from that second set last night. And the Viola........

I think I'm going to try to put up some thoughts and feelings about the last 5 out of 7 I caught to close this tour. I hope not to hold back and let allow my ego to have its moments to shed light as well. This run triggered all aspects of who I am. The total journey. I'm dragging ass right now and the dog needs all the energy I got so it will have to wait. Just such an overwhelmingly joyful and blissed out journey. I know I've said it already but I can't thank my brothers and sisters enough for letting that light shine. Boundless trees easier to quantify than boundless love.

Words half spoken, picture unclear

Desperate ties severed slayed on St Michael's fiery spear

Mona Lisa's highway blues pushed to disappear

Will she keep her crooked smile?

Up the Gamblers highway rages the hummer

"Mines bigger" pointless miles, no summer

Ego tramples underfoot, soft nature whimpers

Consumption or conception

The choice lies within.

The beauty lies at hand

Just open heart and spread zen.

long breaks between songs...... Not sure how many steps I did first night but I danced 10 miles last night.

What a great weekend !!it wouldn't be as much fun without all of you. Thank you all !! Dancing with you all is a priceless goodness that soaks my heart like a gravy biscuit.

The other one .....Rob B was playing so fast his hands were a blur. ... Lol the Hammer .... I saw some forearms thrown it too. Cryptical other one Cryptical is such such a treat. Great delivery and drums in between and space were mesmerizing.

Sweet Visions of Johanna.

And with Viola Lee ...... Just the bestest !!!!!

All night id keep moving from the sound to the dance area. I grooved in the mix With the gf during DS then the other one hit I was like ill see u later then back to the sound for that dreamy visions. I just loved Jeff's cadence delivering those meaningful lyrics. Was just beautiful. I needed so much space during viola that I had to go near the lemonade guy. I think I nearly decapitated torin and mango during it so I needed more space. Such a fun group of dancers at the left of the stage. We lost a lot of sound but that space was worth it. Man that sweat felt amazing. My body was cleansed of all toxins by the end of night 2. That mass of weaving in and out dancers was a ton of fun to move with. BM is my fav non jubilee venue by far. Poca was a blast but at Pisgah you just feel like you are home. It could be that Asheville vibe. I can't speak for the west coast vibe but I'd guess BM is near that level or at least that left of stage groove is.

Had a blast hanging out with guys I've met but never really got to know, as well as hanging with close tour buddies. You guys and gals are all awesome :). Until New Years run......

Quite a forum dance party, and was really fun. Flailing away I saw, rudedoggg, sunny1869, mango, helpslip, Darby's dad, masons child, teacher Matt, Michael Doc, poetry girl, flairblair, jammin on the 1, saw old&in the way, and friends of the forum, Sam, Amy, my bro Steve, rob, Dave, tiff, joe with big props to Cotter and Hunter for acoustic set by the creek til 4am Saturday morn. I'm sure I just risked leaving somebody out, along with not being the best with names. My eggs are not quite unscrambled yet. First time aquatinted with a few and feel blessed as always extend my DSO family. You guys are all really good dancers! Black mountain is one of THOSE places..... Long wait til next shows on winter tour.

Helluva weekend. First night Jeff was dropping Mungo Jerry, In The Summertime, quotes and generally having fun.

The second night I ventured upfront and heard Jeff toying with a riff or two. I turned to the guy next to me and asked how he'd feel about a Jack Straw opener. Did the same thing with Althea and blew some minds. Danced like crazy through that first set and was chuffed to get that Let's Spend the Night Together, Keep on Growing. It was about then that I got my happy balloon popped by a nice women who asked if I could "tone it down" a bit dancing. Apparently, I kicked up some mulch that hit her. THAT...was a first for me. After considering my options, I decided to vacate the dance floor because "toning it down" just didn't seem like a viable alternative for me at the moment.

After visiting family behind the soundboard, I realized I had danced myself into a proper lather and had to swear off full body hugs in favor of pinky embraces.  I left them behind and made it back to the left hand side of the stage, sans mulch, and just in time to guess the Masterpiece before Jeff could kick it off. There were no complaints about my dancing for the rest of the set, and a bunch of us blissed out to that lovely Bird Song.

That second set was as good as it gets. Glad to hear my first Visions and it was over too soon.

I missed the 1st night....due to lack of planning. Did not plan to go at all...but that itch gets worse closer it gets to show time. So I made it to Blk mountain..and nearly as good as the music was the good friends and dso family I was greeted with. I first pulled up to the super 8...and Teacher Matt with his basketball court demeanor shoots a ..."yo sunny" across the parking lot. This was followed by greetings from many of our favorite forum contributers!!! Get settled in...took a nap..than got to the most SEXY VENUE of all wast coast venues. The women of Blk mountain are beautiful organic creatures that I made sure to bounce against some bottoms!!! And belive me...the bottoms bounced back with a smile!!!

It is so nice to feel like Norm (ccheers) when I go to these venues now. Our DSO family are always a smile bringer, but it'd the locals that come up and give higs, with a usual...remeber me from last year? I tend to just smile and not answer. ..cause its mostly a no..I don't remeber...but still...it's nice to be remebered, and to be remebered because most often....it's usually get the best compliments I can get. "You helped me raise my level of dance with your energy Sunny":)!!!! That is what every dancer loves to gear, and a good reason why I dance the whole venue trying to find pockets. Energy and good dance is infectious, and its one infection in don't mind sharing with others!!!

I have never been asked to tone it down...and I promise...if anyone has seen my feet move....you would.know.i kick up.dust, dirt, mulch and rocks in many directions...but what are you going to do to get me to stop:)!!!!

The viola blew me away and was my top song of the night. The played so fast I could no longer keep up. So like a super heated molecule I just stood for a bit and vibrated at a high energy state of existance.

Always meet someone new at shows, and Darby's Dad was on the list this weekend. Super cool guy that makes us crazy kids look like amateurs!!!! I want to look that good and be that cool when my experience meets up with my years!!! It was a pleasure brother!!! Thanks for leaving the door cracked!!!

Greatful went through a good name line uo..so I won't double up, but a.great thanks to all of you. Old and in the way....I promise the next round is on me:)!! Thanks again!!!

Though I am from virginia. ...Blk mountain no doubt blows poca away!! It is, as I said the sexist venue I ever been to, but it's also the most true loving dance mix of any venue I have been to. The density of dancers makes it seems like a true show, and gives delight to all those who understands the connection of Greatful Dead and the expression of its emotional impact through limitless dance.

This is my church, and I join it with the most awesome congregation in the world!!!!

Been told I got good dance moves over this weekend:)!!!! Have had many ego shattering experiences through the sad experience of divorce, but I can feed all day on the idea that my moves makes others happy..and that I don't always look like a out of control idiot who just likes to kick his feet and flail his arms. I feed of off yall..and many times take clips of "your" dance and try to include it into my own rythme and ryme!!!!

My experience is better because of you all, and my dance improves as I get to dance closer and closer to you fine brothers and sisters!!!!

Love yall more than you can imagine...thanks DSO for bringing this all together!!!!

Wow!  This ones a bit deeper. Instead of images of the first evening this song from night two belongs in the mind and maybe the heart? The Lady with a Fan inspires us to ponder from vince these thoughts flow. ....maybe Jack O' Roses knows.

Life was definitely sweeter for this...second set was ridiculous

The BM vibe combined with the super 8 festivities were memorable. This venue is a must for me as my picking and choosing become more necessary due to a zillion factors.

The super 8 has been so kind to us. I'm really glad we have found a place to congregate before and after the show where I don't feel like I need to hide behind the blinds and pray I don't get word their going to kick the door in again.

super8 truly feels like a home-away-from-home...i cant get enough of it...

this elective felt nice and cozy all night a feel-good vibe just zinging thru everyone

J.straw was smooth, Althea kind of slow, Uncle>Mexicali so silky and just exactly perfect after that althea that kind of brought me down for some reason, huge bouncy bass during Mexicali

loved the Let's Spend nght together, Jeff and Rob B so good on that one...always llove catching a West LA...they definitely did that one more often with JK...

Music neverStopped very strong way to open 2nd set, loved that pick! got us all going real quick..Shared a nice connection over the Foolish with teachMatt, that was simply incredible..

called that Viola from super8 parking lot before show even started haha then again during birdsong said we were gettin a viola to close set2 ..Explosively awesome. cant say enough how much i love all you people i encountered. the love keeps on growing, the light keeps on beaming ..thank you DSO the respect just grows and grows ...words fail ...love is real. ...not even close to fading away
