Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted June 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 30, 2015 I've heard that too. I don't think it's true or substantiated. If it happens, I may smile cry even though I won't be there. I know the show is gonna be special for those in attendance w or without jk.

Insanely technical with soul and amazing volume control.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted June 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 30, 2015 I love jm. I don't want jk back in the band. he plays early dear so well. just like to live in world of forgiveness and by gones be by gones. jk and Scott had a connection. the show is for Scott. I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. just love to see everyone move on. maybe he doesn't have to play with them for that to happen. I don't know. enjoy the shows. I'm gonna to enjoy the one I get tonight outdoors kc.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted June 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 30, 2015 And Rude I know the jubilee night 2 blew you away. You think jm played better than Garcia ever did that night? At least it seems that way. you said best music you've ever heard.
Forum MVP comesatime Posted June 30, 2015 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 30, 2015 Don't really want to debate who's better , both are grate , just hoping some old friends play music together  ... also , I'm really not the best at figuring who is the better Jerry or who is better at playing his music  as I have  only seen Jerry Garcia perform somewhere around 240 shows over a 15 year period ,,, JK's playing style and vocals do take me back to that 15 year period in  time that  I really enjoyed though  , but I'll give it a go , Jerry was the best Jerry !!! The live show aspect adds so much and it likely skewed me. I was in the moment and it blew my mind like no other show ever.

Forum MVP Michael Doc Watson Posted July 1, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2015 John, Jeff, or Jerry....they all are wonderful musicians. The best of the three is the one that you are listening to at that very moment.  Of coarse Jerry was the orginal who help start this music we love so he gets extra credit over the other two.  I miss hearing John. Hopefully I might get to see him next month when his band swings south ...maybe Ashville but there might be schedule conflict that Ill have to find away around.  Peace, Love, and Fancy Strings on a Sound Board, Doc

Forum MVP Michael Doc Watson Posted July 1, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2015 girlfriends parents visiting over the 4th..... If you are the least bit serious about this girlfriend, then spending the time with her parents is more important than catching some music....But then again, maybe they are old Dead Heads that want to see a show too....Maybe you ought to check out their history before plans are set in stone. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 1, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2015 DC Frank is doing well last I heard. Â Â Lives in the Boulder area. Â He still makes it out to some local shows and does a lot of outdoor activities. Â We are not nearly as close as when we lived together in college, but he is still one of my truest brothers and truest friends. Â I love him. Â Â We are very serious. Â We have lived together for 3 years and had our ups and downs. Â My inability to care about her parents stop smoking and entertain has been a sore spot. Â I'm actively working to do better. Â They introduced her to the GD. Â They actually just gave us what I believe to be a complete GD record collection. Â I still need to get me a record player. Â They know that I am going to the last night on Sunday. Â I'm buying her father a T-shirt. Â We will be streaming the shows together on the 3rd and 4th. Â I'm not upset. Â If I had to lose Jamaica or the Jubilee, I would probably throw a hissy fit, but I've seen some shows. Â Its were I've had my greatest highs, but true joy is found in her eyes and I know that. Â She wants me there with her parents and I know its were I belong. Â Â

She wants me there with her parents and I know its were I belong.   Good to hear that about DC. I think he was studing law at Georgetown when I hung out with him at the Ledges and other tours. He kept extending his time on the road away from school and I was a little worried for him about that.  I remember DC, another young gentleman, and me sitting on the edge of a table at the Ledges. As beautiful young ladies would walk by I would say something to them to get them to stop and chat as I flirted with them. I then explained to DC that I was just giving a lesson in life for them in order how to actually meet these lady friends.  Peace and Love, Doc
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 1, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2015 He studied pysch at georgetown I believe. didn't make it through but I'm very happy to say he is completing or maybe just completed a degree in engineering at the University of Colorado boulder. He is doing very well academically now. I'm proud of my brother. Doc, I almost stayed w you in Atl years back but I was too spun to sleep and hotel wouldn't let me in and out to smoke without you. You were sleeping and had already woke once to let me in. Highland hotel maybe? Right by the playhouse. I posted as ricke back then.

Forum MVP Michael Doc Watson Posted July 1, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 1, 2015 .... completed a degree in engineering ... Highland hotel maybe... That's good for DC....engineering degree can usually put bread on the family's table and find work in almost all locations.  Ahh...so Rick and Mason are one in the same. That's good. I have trouble putting together faces, names, and on line "names" but I've been wondering if "Mason" is "Rick". Yes it was Highland ...I've always been concerned that somehow you got left out in the parking lot. sorry about that situation. Very good to now put your face together with "Mason's Child" and previous name of "Rick".  Peace and Love, Doc
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted July 2, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 2, 2015 I ended up alright. I ended up at a gas station where I got in the car of someone trying to sell me some powder or crack. then dawned on ne that I've seen episodes of cops that start or end like that. I promptly got out no purchase and I went to a hotel my buddy bobby Mcgee was staYing at. sorry I was young and lost. I stay in rooms with people much better now. no more searching parking lots and city streets for rainbows. ah maybe that's a lie. I be up all night sunday in chicago.
