Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted June 4, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 I choose not to do math like that. I will make all the dso shows I'm meant to be at with or without this purchase. It may slow my party but seems like a worthy purchase to do so.
Forum MVP HelpSlip Posted June 4, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 23 a show when buying 30 at once is absolutely out of this world..simply unnecassary to release all of this in one and to charge that much for the bundle ..not even considering it... Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted June 4, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 It would've been cheaper but the 34 minute Alligator from Shrine Auditorium pushed up the price

For me, with kids in college, it's one or the other, so live it is....

Forum MVP Rude Posted June 4, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 Well the cost of CDs has to be at least $1 per box set. They have to recoup those costs.
Forum MVP HelpSlip Posted June 5, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2015 used to burn discs as i was streaming them live with my older very expensive cd recorder (that's how i have DSO 12/31/06 boulder)(and all the old DSO on http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?songs=251148&t=1692) whatever it was that was playing on my computer i could plug into this recorder and i could track it manually and burn discs in real time i actually kind of doubt they will be pulled from archive...i also bet they will be put on Spotify which is free to stream.. dont agree with this cash cow from the dead archivists.,,cashing in on popularity of 'fare thee well' ...miss the once in a blue moon release of one amazing "dick's pick" show at a time
Forum MVP John A Posted June 5, 2015 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2015 Torin, Remember, the Boys signed a 10 year deal with Rhino in 2006, worth many millions of dollars to the core four. So this expires next year. Rhino is just monetizing it while the monetizing is good! That said, I can't imagine a new deal not being negotiated when the 10 years are up. Rhino can't possibly think thast the well is near dry.

Forum MVP Rude Posted June 5, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2015 The most efficient band in the universe. They just chose to do a couple monster shows and a 250 pound box set. Minimize appearances but maximize the cash.

Forum MVP Rude Posted June 5, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2015 I'm not complaining. I'd like that USB drive but don't have 700 bucks that id set aside for it. If they just did 30 shows on a USB drive for 100 bucks I'd likely buy it. I don't even have a CD player anymore. I've gone 100% digital now. I'll slum it with you guys for the show but when the shows over, I need a shit, a shower, a shave, a bread/cheese plate, a scotch, and a thumber. All in the comfort of Gr8fulparis chez lounge while I drift off to la-la land. On second thought, I'm more of a huddled-masses kinda guy.

Technically you did none of those things as you were out in that chair within 5 minutes sleeping all proper like. We said it looked like you were taking a business meeting how proper you were sleeping. Guessing ritzy upbringing will do that.
