Jubilee safety tips

After last year' thieving I thought I'd make a post about ways to avoid having wookies ruin your jubilee experience.

1. Keep all valuables on your person at all times. This especially includes your keys!!!! A good pair of cargo shorts/pants can handle your valuables easily.

2. When you sleep, put all of your valuables in the bottom of your sleeping bag!! Last year people tent invaded in the middle of the night looking for wallets and keys!! Just stuff it all in a cinch sack and put it in your sleeping bag where no one can get to it.

3. Leaving the fest. Do NOT ride dirty after the fest. We had friends who left at 8am all the way to noon. It's cop hell targeting concert goers regardless of the time. We assume there are spotters notifying who is who as we've only seen jubileers pulled over the past 3 years. It's not worth an arrest if you are carrying anything. Cops were emptying all belongings out searching people. Note that there have been forum members profiled and arrested after jubilee so be safe.

2 is a new tip as we'd not seen the tent invaders b4 but many in VIP were targeted last year. Do NOT put keys and wallets in your shoes. That's where they look 1st.

See u in a week :)

Thanks for the PSA Rude.  Here are some others:

If somebody opens your tent at 4am and asks if this is "Larry's tent."  Punch him in the face and detain.

Do NOT leave peanut M&M's sitting out.  They will be promptly absconded.

Watch out for tent-stake ropes in GA.  These are serious tripwires after the sun sets although it got a bit funny seeing soooo many people eat it.  A mini flashlight may not be a bad idea.

If you are going to make a fire, learn how do it right.  I was shocked that a few tents didn't get incinerated

DO NOT blow tubes next to my tent at 5am and cough uncontrollably for 20 minutes between each pull.  I will end you.

Pace yourselves.

Seriously tho - Rude is right - leaving Jubilee dirty is a really, really bad idea.

....Watch out for tent-stake ropes in GA.  These are serious tripwires

When pitching a tent think about this and mark the ropes with some sort of streamers that might attact attention.

As far as the tent robbers....If you are with a group of campers or friendly neighbors...work out a plan of staying up and sharing the watch over the area. If the watchman has a bright flshlight it can be used to shine a light on anyone walking in the area. A robber will turn away and an inocent person will thank you for the help in the dark. Know and reconise who's in your neighborhood tents. Make friends with those around you.

Peace and Safe and Happy Camping,

Doc
