Time: 7:00 p.m. (local time)
Run Time: 2 hours and 50 minutes (approximate)

Special Fathom Features: A big screen presentation of the previously unreleased Alpine Valley concert from 7/19/89.

Fathom Events and Rhino Entertainment are thrilled to bring legendary rock band, the Grateful Dead, back to the big screen for the fifth annual Meet-Up at the Movies on Monday, May 4th at 7:00 p.m. (local time).

This year’s can’t-miss Meet-Up features the previously unreleased last-ever Grateful Dead show at Alpine Valley on July 19, 1989. Recorded from the analog master multi-camera video from the famous concert venue in East Troy, Wisconsin, this exclusive cinema event captures the peak of the band’s energy and chemistry on stage and features favorites including Sugaree, Box Of Rain, Terrapin Station, Morning Dew, and more!

Join your friends and fellow fans for this Grateful gathering in cinemas Monday, May 4 only.

I think they did 7/18 a couple years back.  This one is the rain show and features one of the best Desolation Rows ever performed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  This weekend may have been one of the most fun times I've ever had....ever.  Walking pnemonia afterwards notwithstanding.

I was able to snag a DVD of this show, video is identical to the quality of Downhill from here (7/17/89) and the release of 7/18/89 a few years ago. Strong Sugaree, Deal, Foolish Heart, Terrapin, and Dew. Agree on the Desolation. You can always go to the bathroom during Victim. Always like seeing Jerry sing West LA and Althea for some reason. I do have a few problems with the DVD I got though. They split the sets up on to their own discs. Video quality looks like it's gone down a generation. And every once in a while, there is this weird robotic voice that cuts in between songs. It was put out by some weird bootleg DVD company in Europe but they usually have great stuff.

Definitely recommend going to this.

I want to see a posting that July 3, 4, and 5 shows are being brought to a theatre near you.

I'm guessing a few theaters in big cities will carry them, but likely a home ppv experience. Nothing like the scope of meet up at the movies.

Btw those boards on downhill from here have zero bass. I have that DVD and went and saw night 2 at the theater and you couldn't hear Phil the entire show as well as the kick drums. Is there some remaster out there b/c the copy I have sucks.

My buddy lost his shoes that night, ground just sucked them right off his feet, drove home 400 miles barefoot. I agree with Tea, one of the best weekends ever, met up with Woodstock on the first night and had a blast for three straight.

The only thing bad about tonight is Tuesday morning.

Don't worry about tomorrow, Lord, you'll know it when it comes,

When the rock and roll music meets the risin' shinin' sun is done and over by 10p-um.

You can get your beauty rest on Tuesday night :)

Only being shown at the theater with shitty seats and shitty pop corn. I would go if it was at my preferred theater. may still go if jenna's insists. I don't think she will. We've listened to all 3 shows from alpine. Please share reviews that make me regret not going.

Damn that's crazy. We will have maybe 15 of the 300 seats filled in our theater.

The things we do to get our GD hit...

Worked a full day today,,off to catch a 5pm ferry,,get to mainland by 6 and drive straight to Bellingham just in time to get into theater by showtime(hopefully!),,catch a late dinner with a friend after flick,,drive 1hr back to ferry landing and crash in back of truck sometime after midnight,,wake up and hop on 6:20am ferry and home by 7:30am ready (theoretically) to face a full day of work...no prob

Charlotte sold out last year so I bought a tix to another movie and just walked into the theatre and enjoyed. The stoner high school kids that work in theaters don't give a shit what you do once you're in.

Just got back for the show in Tysons Corner.......15% full......

Pretty good show......killer Morning Dew. Interesting to be reminded how relatively disconnected Jerry and Phil were by the late 80's. Stark contrast to any show you will see from the 70's.

Jerry was surprisingly connected visually with the other band members, especially Brent.....what a sweet connection those two appear to have shared.

Phil, on the other hand, was on his own private island.....I don't think he made eye contact with any band member the entire show. My guess is that he was fairly resigned to watching Jerry self-destruct. The close up of Jerry's left hand on the fret board at the end of the show says it all.......finger tips burned black with tar.

Enjoyable show. We had 25-30 in the theater. Family with 3 young kids who were troopers and stayed through the end. Pretty sure if I had 2 girls under 10yrs old they would be fairly pissed at me for making them sit through a 3 hour dead show. I know the dead is no One Direction, but they performed pretty well tonight. If I could go back in time I'd tell the Dead 2 things. 1. Don't ever let go of Betty Jean and 2. Get a 16mm camera. Trust me guys. Father Time was so off about his love of the video camera.

That being said I'm dying to see DSO do a desolation row. Got my tangled. Desolation is the last Dylan I'm missing. Yes I know learning the words to that song and attempting to sing them in a semi correct order is a Herculean task, but one I believe Rob or Skip is up for on a more regular basis than the 1 show a year it pops up in. Yes the chances of failure increase exponentially the more times it's attempted to be sung, but Skip does a great Tom Thumb so he's up for the massive task of memorizing the desolation tome or at least flipping through the 16 pages of lyrics.
