Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted March 5, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 5, 2015 http://deadessays.blogspot.com/2009/08/chinarider-early-years.html?m=1 A cool blog on Viola Lee Blues. With harmonica..... Hmmm. different concept... first "big jamming" song of the Dead I like the 8/4/67 version. great opening. really awesome guitar before the climax. I wonder if it was after this show Bonnie Dobson author of "Morning Dew" was too shy to meet the band.
Forum MVP Michael Doc Watson Posted March 6, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 6, 2015 Nashville is as empty as I've seen DSO. ...... ..... I caught nashville twice in 2005, one show with Donna Jean. Those shows were filled up.
chinacatfunflower
68-74 probably my favorite shows to listen to. Love the early stuff with Pig. 68/69 stuff really gives me a good feeling. Just love thinking about how early they are and young and everything. Just a really cool feeling when I picture what it would be like to be there that time...well any time for that matter... but you get the point. Early 70's same thing. Sooo many great 70/71 shows. 1972 I mean common...nuff said. Then the 73/74 stuff really hits home for me. Really love just about every show I hear from this era. The China Cats in 74 are mouth wateringggg. And of coarse who doesn't love a raging 77 show??? I got love for the 80's too but if I had to pick a range of years it would be 68-
