Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted March 21, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 Damn...you're confused, MC? I am in a pickle of a quandary! They seemed so kind and gentle when I'd dance in their crappy field house. But now they are hell spawn? And yet, while I had incredible times at the Chapel, the parking there sucked even back then. No easy answers. Guess all I can do is split the difference and back the Bruins. They're in my time zone, anyway.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 21, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 As of now, I'm still riding with my Hoyas. As an alumni, the choice is obvious. When we lose and we will lose, I'm rooting for anyone but Kentucky, sorry Rude. I think Arizona has the best chance to knock off Kentucky.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 21, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 21, 2015 No one likes a favorite unless that's their team. Trust me if I wasn't a uk alum no way if root for them. They are the cowboys of ncaa hoops. U love em or hate em. What gets me is some friends are posting stuff like they should just give UK the trophy. That shit pisses me off. I've watched too much basketball to believe any team is invincible vs another top team. Starting next Thursday it's all top teams. And I'm a firm believer in the power of a jinx. My yelling at the tv brought UK through their slump today and I'll continue to yell at my tv until it's over. And yes I think Arizona is the other team even though they have a fight on their hands currently.
Forum MVP bs69 Posted March 22, 2015 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 22, 2015 You're right Chuck, there were some great shows at Cameron and chapel hill and that 73 Pauley Pavilion show is worthy of consideration, but I think you need to go with northern Iowa, that 78 show in the snowstorm was top notch
Forum MVP bs69 Posted March 24, 2015 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 24, 2015 Well, the path opened for my Northern Iowa long shot, then UL slammed the door. Not a good tourney for the state of Iowa.

Forum MVP Rude Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 I want terry rozier on my team. Only 6'2", he pulled down 14 rebounds for Louisville playing almost every second if not every second and exploded the last few minutes to pull Louisville away. That's hustle. The Harrison twins need to watch that game to see how u become a 1st round draft pick.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Harrison twins would be first round picks if they played with less McD's all Americans. If they were on an Indiana or a Wake Forest, they would have a much higher usage rate. Their numbers would be higher and they would stand out more instead of taking a back seat to the big men. On a team with top 10 picks that demands you give up time to freshman even though you chose to come back, team first Guards hurt their draft position. The Harrison's, particularly Aaron lack the hustle and drive inherent in many of the other players. Some of the scouts have said they don't have a motor. They play plenty if not too much. Aaron does nothing but shoot from outside and doesn't di that particularly well.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Having another guy on your own team that scouts, think is,better definitely hurts draft stock. Unless your still top 2 or 3 player on team. Playing for a team where you don't shine, hurts draft stock. Being the man and getting too many touches improves draft stock. Some people go too high and some too low. Much easier to go too high and get bigger rookie dollars if you was the star on your team.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Aaron Harrison is the leading scorer but not 1 of my friends thinks he will be a good NBA player. He's lazy. He only hustles if he has to. Nba SCouts hate him. He lacks motor. He's not a good team player. The second his drive starts u know he won't or lacks the ability to pass. He's a sophomore and has improved very little. He's going pro refardless and will likely be a D league player. Being a top 5 high school prospect made him think he was a shoo in for nba. They are embarrassed that they had to come back to collehe for a 2nd year. Several guys who are 8 point a game guys are going 1st round. I'll argue the other way. If u only have to play 20 minutes a game you can shine even more vs tired opponents helping your draft.
Forum MVP Dead duck Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 I think playing on a team with so much talent may hurt their draft position by a few spots but will ultimately prepare them better for the league. Plus they get the benefits of just playing a role on a team, as opposed to being the whole team and getting to the nba only to get frustrated with a more reduced role than what they are used to, losing motivation and fizzle out. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 It can help draft status too. If your top 3 on that stud team, stock goes up. Towns had a better shot at going number 1 if he had a larger role. I think it goes to okafor. They going to the show. I'm sure they aren't complaining. Forum MVP Rude Posted March 28, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Towns will go 1. His upside is bigger. Booker comes off the bench and will go top 15. Aaron plays the most on the team. He gets enough minutes. His issue is he gets no reboubds or assists. He just sits outside and seems lazy. Tyler ulis is 5'9" and out rebounds 6'6" Aaron Harrison. He's a shooting guard who isbt that good of a shooter. Andrew Harrison has become a legit point guard. He has turned it over only 3 times in last 6 games total. He and ulis average under 1 TO a game and that's 1 of 10 reasons UK is so hard to beat. UK has 2 1st round NBA guys that come off the bench and the team 2 guard combo of ulis/booker is faster and better than team 1 so after 5 minutes other teams face a faster pace. I'll miss many of these guys next year.

I think the opposite. I think they are given the benefit of the doubt. After 2012 Michael kidd gilchrist went number 2 in the draft b/c that team was so good. He wasn't close to the 2nd best player and has been a disappointing pro so far, but anthony Davis went number 1 averaging 11 points a game as I still think that's the best team ive ever watched. Nba wants a guy who can do 20+ a game and I think they are assuming some of these kids can if they were on a bad team and many of these guys can't create their own shots. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 29, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 Harrison twins won that game from Kentucky. Don't get me wrong. I know towns despite foul issues carried the squad offensively but the Harrison boys closed that game. They lose without them. I hope Kentucky is thankful for the veteran leadership they provided their more talented and better nba prospect teammates.
Forum MVP bs69 Posted March 29, 2015 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 The player I have really been impressed with is Dekker from Wisconsin. Willie better get ready to play some defense.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 29, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 Notre dame outplayed UK. Notre dame lost b/c they refused to double team towns. He was 8/8 in the 2nd half. Notre Danes Defense was amazing. I had 8 people at my house who after we won just sat there. Took 30 secs til we celebrated. We were in shock. Didn't feel like we won. Their spread offense was amazing. Grant couldn't be stopped on the pick and roll and there was no help b/c of their 3-point threat. UK was and is not a perfect team. They were just lucky enough to have a perfect record. 2012 UK is a better team IMO. This team just happens to be lossless.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 29, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 29, 2015 Harrison saved you. Any objective fan could see that. The late 3 by one Harrison gave you life. 2 free throws by other ended it. They should've doubled towns but they need to respect Harrison from outside and they played great defense. Better coached and better team just less talented.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 Aaron got a huge 3 late. Andrew is a better player. He hit the 2 winning free throws. I'm just saying they have issues. Yes UK needs them. Without them we have only 2 guards. You can't say better team. Did u see UK vs West Virginia? UK had a bad game yesterday. Looked worse than they did all year. UK has been unselfish all year. Notre dale had a great game plan and still lost and they played perfect and lost. Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted March 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 I'm trying to say played better team basketball. A collection of lesser talented kids executed a team oriented game plan and almost upset a group of highly talented guys that played less well as a team. Does that makes sense? Atlanta plays better team basketball than the Cavs. I would take Cavs in a series.
Forum MVP Rude Posted March 30, 2015 Forum MVP Report Share Posted March 30, 2015 They played better as a team Saturday. They used the old nba clear out playbook. Isolate 3 shooters on the perimeter then pick and roll. Was a great strategy. Almost worked but they refused to double towns.
