jubilee camping

Hey folks, what's the Jubilee camping scene like? I can't find a site map showing the different areas. If I am in a van camper, am I best to park with car campers or rv campers? Does the location of vip rv camping make a difference. I like to hang out and cook at the bus and listen, maybe see the stage, even at a distance. But I not into generators and air conditioner running next to me, which I sometimes find in the rv areas. Totally looking forward to our first Jubilee.

None of the spots you can camp in your van allow sight lines to the stage. If you get a RV pass and get the fence line (better be the first 20-30 in) you can hear ok and may see a bit. Long walks from general car camping and closer but still a hike from rv. Vip is close, but you can't see the stage and hearing will depend on your surroundings.

Jubilee favors tent camping inside the venue. We are close and see the stage. Shorter walk etc. U may consider a tent and use the camper as back up in case bad weather. The action is inside the venue. Pretty much a ghost town outside.

The stage/venue is down in a deep bowl from the general parking/car camping/rv camping so that's why I say if you get the fence line in Rv you'll be on the rim of the bowl. Anywhere back from there and the sound is gone. General car camping is on what looks like about 10-15 acres of grassy knolls. No trees. People park all over those knolls, but it's a 15-20 hike to the bottom of the bowl from that area. Agree with rude in that you might bring a tent so if you want to be in the action you can pop one up anywhere inside the bowl you want. It's pretry fucking fun down on the main field. Although I'll say, I had the fence line in rv camping the first year and met some awesome people and had a helluva good time as well. Kind of a little community in Rv. Don't recall being bothered by compressors. No AC needed in Ohio in May.

Now that you mentioned the Mrs, definitely a camper seems preferred. Hit a stair stepper to prepare b/c back and forth up the hill can be a little taxing. It's always funny to watch the people navigate the sharp turn inside the venue as they are bringing their supplies into the bowl. We overturned as well as seeing several coolers flip over. U will avoid these pitfalls car camping.

They do not appreciate people trying to show up early or camp out early.  You will not be permitted to enter and you will be asked for leave.  I don't know what happens if you refuse but I imagine you will be "forced" to leave.  I've never been to the KOA but I hear it is full of likeminded heads awaiting the festival.

Comfirmed.
