sudds94
Since Scott and I can't afford the JITS trip this year, we're going Portland, Eugene, San Fran, so excited, 1st time in the West coast!
Forum MVP Island Bro Posted December 13, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 13, 2014 That's a damn good consolation prize! See ya out west
Forum MVP Rude Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 6 shows vs 3. Seems like the grand prize to me.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 It doesnt to me. Friday portland and Saturday Eugene will be tight for space. Crossroads also tight. I have no say on great American never been but you will cover as many miles dancing in jamaica on one night as you will on 3 shows on that run but enjoy. The ballroom is an awesome place and crossroads sounds great. Both California and Oregon bring out some of the finest folks. Definitely a great consulation prize. Excited to see you. Forum MVP Rude Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 I love the islands but have never done the west coast. Was trying to make a 3-show run last year but the cost was prohibitive. For me trying to do 15-20 shows a year, Jamaica would just eat too much cash. Plus I've gotta buy a ring soon............43 years of being single will be ending in 2015.

As far as TXR goes, I went for my first time in October for dso and was blown away how much space we had both nights (fri/sat nights). Others said that it was a different layout (the band played from the lengthwise wall (opposite the entry), so no one was far from the stage) so maybe that was a factor. We were right up close and mucho flail space. I think we will find good space in both portland and Eugene this year,,,but here's to weeknight shows
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 Hey I complain about the space at shows when we can really get down. The space in jamaica is unrivaled. Full on expression. No frustration. Nothing holding you back. It's rare if ever that happens in doors. I doubt that possibility even on thursday night. Unrestrained freedom to display your unbridled joy for this music is an amazing unmatched and priceless place. Can't wait to boogie with all you and hopefully get to go to that place from time to time. Ask sun he may explain it better. Big difference between good and great space. Just as big a difference between great and perfect space.

Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 " then the goal is to be back in Vegas by 1pm to watch the back 9 of Sunday at the Masters ...." Well, hmmm. I think your DVR plan is wise. That will help you get your $298 worth out of this trip.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted December 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted December 14, 2014 I'm doing Chicago through St Louis. On fence falling towards a no for Fort Laud. So possibly but not for sure. I'm not doing Columbus Cleveland or Indy. Would like to but not this year.

sudds94
Honestly the BEST space and dancing is the Jamaican trip and believe me, would do it in a heartbeat if we had more $. But we have been planning a west coast trip for years now and DSO is a bonus plus it coinsides with my school break this year and we are psyched to have another awesome roadtrip with family
