Forum MVP Rude Posted November 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 14, 2014 Solid 77 setlist. Promised land to get the blood flowing to start and a Sampson to start 2nd. Terrapin encore seems fun. That is probably a rare position for that. Wonder how many times they encored terrapin. Couldnt be more than a couple. Forum MVP found Posted November 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 14, 2014 I can think of a few terrapin encores in 77. 3/20, 4/22, 4/30, 9/3, 12/29. I'm sure it happened a few times after but that's all that comes to mind right now. I think in 77 they hadn't quite pinpointed where it belonged in the setlist just yet. The first performance of it opens the show... Could also be that it was new material and in some ways a new musical achievement for them and maybe they wanted to highlight it by putting it in peculiar slots in the set. Forum MVP Tea Posted November 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 14, 2014 So there was Red Rocks 78 and then I don't think it re-surfaces as an encore until Nassau in spring of '91 I think. I don't remember it being much of a memorable show until Terrapin started up. That place went ape shit.
Forum MVP Rude Posted November 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 14, 2014 That 2-26 with the introduction of terrapin and estimated is one of my favs. That may be on the docket tonight at the casa. U can hear the crowd never gets loud like they do when they recognize a song and terrapin is so easily identified now with those 1st 5 notes. Forum MVP found Posted November 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 14, 2014 Tea, YES! Terrapin, OMSN, and werewolves. Killer stuff. Amazing wharf rat. Love those August 78 red rocks shows as well. Debut of world to give, stagger lee, and shakedown.
