Love phil. And all the guys. There were definitely times I felt like the bass was driving the bus. Saw his lineups many times in 90's. Only recently thru streams. He was wearing the dead duck shirt first time I saw it. All that said I'll see the old guys for the history, but give me DSO for the music. Always felt like wanting Phil to sing was an inside thing with the band and the fans. Like how you hang your kids picture of a koala on the fridge even though it doesn't look like a koala. Out of love

Jerry was the gd and the showboat Bob was number 2. Brent 3 then Phil. I stated his bass playing is great. The Eleven sucks moose dick. Now Phil with the other one, thats another story. Hershey 85 the memories, lets not forget Kingswood 87. I pulled out in 89, the stadium bullshit ruined the scene. Went back to see the last DEW in Albany

1.  Wow - you got it figured out with just a few words.  Level with me:  Are you sure you're not Dennis McNally?  Your secret is safe with me - I won't tell.

2.  Let me put this delicately since now is the time past believing:  your opinion on the Eleven sucks moose dick.  But what the hell do I know?

3.  Hershey and Kingswood were great stops and the stadium slate did indeed change the vibe and compromised the scene to a large extent.  The magic of this music and the fact that I hadn't seen my 10th show by the time '89 rolled around made me endure the tribulatons of the Stadium era.  Moth to a flame.

4.  It was a good Dew in the context of 1995 with one of the longer buildups there had been in quite a long time.

I just see much of this from a different point of view......

OMG!! Obviously you have no rhythm nor appreciation of such. "#5,#6"

No person is better., less or more, in a group or a team. Example: LeBron James last night is not a team. It is the chemistry of all the players. I would have recommended you see DSO since Skip joined to see what a new level of fun it is but not sure I would want to hang around that kind of energy.

I think its great that we can disagree. By 89 i had 48 gd shows under my belt and 24 Jerry Band shows. Not a lot compared to many heads, like my brother 200+. 83- 89 i got to see some killer shows and for that i am grateful. When you start walking out booing when throwing stones nfa  starts. Its time. Plus the drug store deadheads a dime a dozen and stadiums.

Since you got it right about Jerry, you realize that he played dozens of shows post '88 in the Warfield Theater, right? Amazingly intimate venue and the JGB of that era was fantastic.  So I hope you didn't pull out all the way.

Also, two of the greatest Brent-era tours were Fall '89 and Spring '90.

I had my share of haters at the phizone, but it had nothing to dew with the music. A lot of ego filled yuppies. I had way more fans. I  rocked that bitch for over a good year. Look it up

A friend has free ticket for me tonight and I am not going.I have seen further playing a great show then Phil decides to

to sing terrapin or something else he has no businesses trying to sing and I just couldn't recover from such atrocities.Between getting an injection on my knee yesterday and a spiritual commitment tomorrow and the chances of Phil fuckin up an otherwise good show I decide to skip this. Phil is a great musician and the dead would not have been what they were without him

The biggest thing Phil brings to the music today is his ego! loser12 wtf? maybe change your name to loser24/7 Rarely do I make a judgment on somebody's spirit from reading a couple post but your energy reminds me of what I feel when I hear Phil try to sing eyes terrapin etc.

Dear Loser,

Please don't dominate the rap, Jack, if you got nothing new to say.

I'm in west Ky. No mans land the only thing in town. I don't care if Phil sings visions, it's better than what I have planned and it's still dead tunes. With everything in life (money, drugs, women, music) if you have an over abundance you don't appreciate what you have. No way I'd be turning down a ticket to see Phil tonight. I guess I'll have to look at girls dressed as slutty nurses getting drunk.
