Forum MVP Mango Posted October 12, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 12, 2014 I need a day or two to wrap my head around all this... for now I'll just say that last night was some prime time modern psychedelia.

Forum MVP Island Bro Posted October 13, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 13, 2014 Damn!! Must've been SMOKIN' Hot show... Probably had to have the acoustic foundation first set to launch into that kind of intensity for 2nd set...woooeee!

Forum MVP bs69 Posted October 13, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 13, 2014 Wow. Glad they got the old school dancing in there, much prefer that to the late 70's versions. Who sang on "Makes no difference"? After reading that list, I think it is time to explore some 1970 set lists today.

TJed
What an awesome looking show! Must have been truly incredible. Saw that the venue has only 876 seats. Wonder why these monster shows never seem to be played at the Vibes or at other large festivals, where the 20,000 fans in attendance would be totally blown away, increasing the band's fan base. Wish I could have been there, awaiting its arrival on nugs.net.
Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 I would think the festival energy wouldn't support the magic of the music. Like sharing a 2008 Brunello at a street fest. Sure there would be people there in appreciation but the setting not a good fit for the occasion. Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 By one measure, of about 500,000 at Woodstock only 50 were there for the show. I think the ratio is more favorable at the smaller venues.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 I still agree that dso should deliver these early shows to larger crowds. Black mountain would be perfect. A return to springfield. This is what people want.
Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 Blk Mtn is 1200? 1500? Yes a nice venue indeed. I second that emotion.

Forum MVP Rude Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 I'll drive out for 3 days at red rocks. Let yonder do a 45 min opener to help sell seats. Have DSO work out a deal with the national park service to let us camp right there.
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 I live 10 min from red rocks. I would love that but think 76 to 78 would get the pick there but I've made it clear what I perfer.
Forum MVP bs69 Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 IMHO the early setlists work better at an indoor venue, although I would say one without seats would be better
Forum MVP Tom Banjo Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 I considered that. The early style show at the jubilee was awesome a few years ago. I do agree in doors may make it easier to pull off.

Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted October 14, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 14, 2014 The math, it slips away, but I try.
