Forum MVP Tea Posted October 7, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 SSIA - Dave has yet to release an 80's show. Hmmmmm. Some of the fastest licks by Garcia during the show you will ever hear post 1969. Everything is FAST and it's not the source - I wonder why? It's a very unique show from the fall of '77 - not the best but you can't go wrong. If you've never heard it and want to give it a listen before you consider the purchase and before it gets pulled from IA, I recommend giving it a spin
Forum MVP Dstone5553 Posted October 7, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 This is a special one folks...the 'Jone's Gang' show...one of the big Stellas. I sometimes think of it as Sonomajon's show. Congrats on the release Jon (exclamation points).

I sometimes think of it as Sonomajon's show. Congrats on the release Jon (exclamation points). Jones is right - Casey's whistle was a-blowin this night. BIG Stella is so true. Not quite 4/21/78 but it more than holds its own

Forum MVP Rude Posted October 7, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 Jerry's singing is definitely strange on BEW. Seems to go really low and stretch out some of the words in a strange fashion. But he's pushing that guitar to the limits. If you were right in front of his guitar monitor you may have bled from the ears. Def rock star'ing it during that BEW. Curious if he was windmilling that guitar lol. sonomajon
The crowd was absolutely bonkers at this show from the first notes of Bertha...Ivy league students very high on acid...and then there was the rest of us who were lucky enough to hear about this add on show...Some of us were already hitchhiking toward Rochester...Garcia tripped over his guitar chord and almost fell down during Eyes...The Stella is phenomenal and yes Garcia was loud as fuck for most of the fall run, perhaps relishing in the return of the modified wolf! Forum MVP Dstone5553 Posted October 7, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 7, 2014 I've always wondered who deserved the props for getting that band to play for their homecoming. Well done sir, well done madam, whichever the case my be. Some great Starheads in this thread!
Forum MVP John A Posted October 8, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 8, 2014 ..Ivy league students very high on acid... Ivy League? Note that this sold out in less than 24 hours! Forum MVP bs69 Posted October 8, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 8, 2014 the eyes>estimated>other one stretch is blistering. A little fast maybe, but perfect for the right time. TJed
Great show! Would love to see DSO re-create it, preferably at Lupo's on 11/21 or in Lowell on 12/6...
Forum MVP John A Posted November 2, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 2, 2014 This puppy landed yesterday and it sounds fantastic. Never experienced that turbo charged Eyes quite like this.
Forum MVP Dead duck Posted November 3, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted November 3, 2014 Got it friday just as I was taking the boys down terrpin hill farms. Provided an excellent soundtrack for the road trip. Sub 30 degree temps sleet snow and 25 mph winds. But boy did we get lemonade out of those lemons. RUMPKE's late night sets are becoming what legends are made of. Plus terrapin flyer and good ol David gans were good too. Plus other bands. Disco pizza in the snow. Good times just hope we don't end up sick. Daves picks MmmmStella Eyes was a freight train
sonomajon
Such a joy to listen to this sonic upgrade! Everybody brought their A game to this show...Drummers are fierce, Phil is fearless, and the Keith is pounding the keys as well...So nice to hear Weir up in this mix too...That 4:25 Other One may be short but it literally explodes...All right enough already..Y'all know how I feel about this show...
