Forum MVP Tea Posted September 17, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 How I didn't know about this site until recently is still a mystery to me. Thanks to Rudedogg for turning me onto this site during moments of a hardcore GD music history geek-out : http://relisten.net/#grateful-dead There's an app too but the full site works just fine on my phone and I think I prefer it. God bless the archive folks but there are some pretty significant limitations in the way they index the GD compendium. This other site links to the Archive database but in a way that makes me much happier This site is the real freaking deal!!! Shows are catalogued and indexed in much more intuitive way and the ability to see all of the sources as a selection tool is freaking brilliant. Rude gets a big 'ole R-O-C-K-S-T-A-R award for this. Unfortunately, most people that receive such an award from me usually end up being cursed. Sorry buddy Check it out if it's new to you too. Forum MVP Rude Posted September 17, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 Badass site. Pulls from the Archive database, but so easy to use and the ability to browse dates and have all the possible sources available for that date puts it heads above the archive site. What are the possible effects of this curse? Baldness? Cant get me there. Its already starting. Financial struggles? Check as well. Impotence? Yikes now that could suck. I hope its not like the Brady Bunch go to Hawaii. That was a bad curse.
Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted September 17, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 I think one significant result of having such easy and reliable exposure to the music is an increased urge to get on jet planes to go see it played live. That may tie into the curse of "financial struggles." No easy answers.
Forum MVP Rude Posted September 17, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 Yes that def ties in. I had a good run this year(nothing like some). 17 shows in 7.5 months. 2 round trip flights. 5 nights tent camping. 2 cabin camping. 2 nights couching it and 7 hotel rooms. 1 show close enough to make the drive home. Next year will be limited to prob 10 shows .
Forum MVP Tea Posted September 17, 2014 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 17, 2014 What are the possible effects of this curse? Baldness? Cant get me there. Its already starting. Financial struggles? Check as well. Impotence? Yikes now that could suck. I hope its not like the Brady Bunch go to Hawaii. That was a bad curse. It was: Surfing mishaps, lost kids, spiders. Serious curse. The curse I have levied has no reported incidences of impotence - so you got that goin for you, which is nice. No, the curse has a short duration and is remedied after you take a football to your nose: You'll be ok. Chuck probably better identifies the blessing and the curse with perpetual exposure to this music - the caution that often gets thrown to the wind. "I have spent my life, seeking all that's still unsung."

Forum MVP dsostar Posted September 24, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted September 24, 2014 Now I'll never be a teen model. it’s OK, it’s not your nose I want. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Rude, amazing discovery! And kudos to Tea for praise. The first link I tested was a Charlie Miller, an archive demigod. The next was some guy named Eaton…

Forum MVP bs69 Posted October 9, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted October 9, 2014 Pretty cool site. I have been addicted to heady version lately. It allows you to vote and give comments on the best versions of songs, but the key is it provides a link to the show on archive. It has really got me to listen to several shows I would not have thought to listen, because of course you have to listen to the whole show for context before deciding on the greatness of the version. http://headyversion.com
