The thing about the south is that we use courtesy as a weapon. That is an art..

If a southerner smiles as says, "Bless Your Heart."  They just told you to go f*ck yourself.  I'll take that version of southern hospitality over straight up douchebaggery any day of the week.

Another popular translation of the BYH sentiment is:  We don't care how you did it up North Yankee.  Take you and your other carpet-bagger friends and high-tail it back north of Mason-Dixon, got it?  Or something like that.

Likewise, if a southerner says, "you're not from around here, are you?" they are telling you to fuck off..

That's best case. Another life-saving reading is "you better start running, motherfucker..."

As a proud son of the South, I can tell you it is all in the smile.

(How's this for thread drift?)

OK people, let's get back on task here.

Whatever one thinks of the relative merits of Hampton vs. Meadowlands vs. Philly vs. Miami, based on the DSO tour schedule, other than the 10-11 show at the Meadowlands (which no one is suggesting to be a contender), the 10-9 show at Hampton is the only show from that wonderful October run that can be recreated on the occasion of its 25th anniversary.  Let's have a show of hands: how many people want to hear that show on 10-9-2014?

Being from the South with 6 revolutionary war ancestors from SC I have to politely step in. Bless your Heart is kind of like forgiveness for the sins you don't know you commit.

Which really means you don't know your a** from page 8.

They have defibs on standby at the merch table. This show is shaping up nicely. Rude, you OK with a JGB set as one of the encores to let us get the heart rates down a tad?

4th encore: Harder They Come>Limbo, Catfish John, Stop that Train>Run for the Roses>Midnight Moonlight, Simple Twist, Struggling Man>The Maker

Add to the Lisa filler, 'oh darling' by the Beatles. She sang it at Terrapin nation show at mexicali in 2012, was utterly mind blowing. Also happened to occur in the setlist right before Russian Lullaby...Was a great show

I can't speak to what your ears hear and your heart and soul make u feel, but 49 seconds into the hey jude of 89 hampton, there is a sound that absolutely blows me away. Sitting here listening for the 9th time crying my eyes out. Bobby steps in with a back up, while Brent produces this hum with his tools, that just brings me to my knees. It really all starts with hey Mr. Fantasy Man. I guess the transition is what burns me inside!!!

That's good stuff, sun.  I especially love the phrase "Bobby steps in with a back up, while Brent produces this hum with his tools, that just brings me to my knees" - and of course its underlying sentiment.

A public or at least forum apology to you john. I wrote some confrontational words that should not have been posted. What ever ur meanings....no matter....last place and time in the world I would want to deal with individual conflict is at a show, so my words of throwing stones was a lash out and inappropriate. Yes there is a lot of dark in my eyes...mason.....but....it should not be released on those not deserving. My apologies again. Threats of any type not acceptable!!! No excuse....but yes.... I got. Lots of built up bs, and sometimes it snaps and overflows!!! In reflection, this is not the place I want the bad vibe sun to surface!!! Peace, and again sorry for my words!!
