Extremely powerful. Skip left a complete bombed out venue this night. Shook the brewery all night. The jam from Terrrapin into Drumz and Spaace was phenomenal. Forum MVP Tea Posted July 29, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 29, 2014 Was at the original run - that jam outta Terrapin was almost as good as that Bird Song set 1 closer. Did they do a Dark a Star Jam before dropping into Watchtower? So glad they dropped this one. Hoping to see them do 9/4 - one of my top 5 post-Brent. On paper the setlist is not overwhelming, but just like the original show, it was played perfectly and explosive. And yes they did a DS tease jam prior to Watchtower. The Playin>Space was as good as any 40 minutes of music i have heard in a while.
Forum MVP Teacher Matt Posted July 29, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 29, 2014 I respectfully disagree when you say the "on paper the setlist is not overwhelming" I was at this show as well as many in the 90s ... and just have to say ..... "I love the 90s setlists" ....

"I love the 90s setlists" .... Matt, I did not intend that statement to sound as negative as you may have took it. To clarify, I saw the setlists numerous times in the early 90's. MSG on 9-18, Boston 9-25 were exact pre drums.....ANd a bunch of others that year and next. No biggie, I just historically get excited when they play a common setlist and blow the house down. The opposite is also true, Many GOGD shows had the 'perfect' setlists on papaer but the show was flat. Thats all i mean man.....
Forum MVP Ammagamalin Crew Posted July 30, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 30, 2014 everyone knows the first set "baby blue" is a "used to love her, but it's all over now"--right? otherwise this would be like the summer 1986 Rubberbowl first set. Forum MVP John A Posted August 2, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted August 2, 2014 everyone knows the first set "baby blue" is a "used to love her, but it's all over now"--right? otherwise this would be like the summer 1986 Rubberbowl first set. When I saw the set list the first thing that jumped out was "The Dead never played a 1st set Baby Blue in '91." I didn't put it together right away that it was All Over Now though.
