The Grateful Dead have announced that Spring 1990 (The Other One), a follow up to 2012’s Spring 1990 box set, will be released on September 29. The new collection will consist of 23 discs featuring eight full shows from the band’s March and April 1990 25th anniversary tour, including their legendary March 29 show with Branford Marsalis at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

The Spring 1990 (The Other One) box set will also feature a 144-page paperback book with essays by Nick Meriwether and Blair Jackson, a portfolio with three art prints by Jessica Dessner (The National’s Bryce and Aaron Dessner’s older sister), replica ticket stubs, backstage passes for all eight shows and more.

Spring 1990 (The Other One) will also be available as a digitial download, and the Nassasu Coliseum show with Branford Marsalis will released as a digital download titled Wake Up To Find Out on September 9 as well. Additionally, the box set will be limited in 9,000 individually numbered copies.

Spring 1990 (The Other One) is now available for pre-order. You can also listen to the “Estimated Prophet” featuring Branford Marsalis, which was released today via Rolling Stone, below.

240.00 bucks or 280.00 for the limited edition copy.  Anyone gonna pony-up for this?  A little rich for my blood although this run was about the best it got for me for live Dead.

My buddy gets all these. I'll put them on a drive. It's easier just downloading in an hour from the pirate bay but feel better about copying them from him lol

Sounds great though listening to that estimated which is rare for anything past 79. Tech got better but The SBD's got worse. Man. If Betty could have stayed with the band.......

What does the extra $40 get you ("limited edition copy")?

I didn't get the 1st Spring '90 set only because I'm in love with the audience tapes from this run but this does look juicy.

Like Tea, this was as good as the Dead got, at least on a consistent night in and night out basis, in my time seeing them.
