One informative way to supplement the listening experience is Darby Slick's book Don't You Want Somebody to Love. It gives an insider's view of the early days and isn't GD-centric. And read some about the anti-war movement. "Hell no, we won't go!" was a real catalyst, even among the apolitical types.

Trust me, those golf carts are being tuned up as we speak. Fortunately they're driven by retirees instead of cops. They love us there. They just have a disenchanted way of showing it.

That old man on the cart absolutely loved us from 3-4am. The sheriff that drove by twice, not so much. Was surreal hearing someone yell "5-0 on the lot" when the sheriff came through. I'm like that's not conspicuous.

That's why this old man like Hampton Inn...looking forward to seeing all my rowdy friends!!

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be able to make it to black mountain. My family just lost a couple more family members, one of which hits us particularly hard, and my family will need my presence and support at this time. If you guys could send some positive thoughts our way, it'd be much appreciated.

And lastly, I just want everyone to rock it out a little extra for me down there. Just when you think you gave it your all, dig down deep and you'll find you always have more to give. Hope you all have a blast! Until next time...

Brian, we have never met, but I wish nothing more than for you and your surviving family members to find strength in each other, and may that strength serve to carry you through this very challenging time. Just words, I admit, but please know that I, along with all those starheads who know and care about you, are sending positive, healing vibes your way. There will, of course, be many shows in your future!

Best wishes to you and your family, Brian. We had the chance to do a lot of shows together this year and had I great time doing them with you. A little extra rocking out will go down in your honor. Hopefully we'll cross paths again this coming fall. Again, well wishes to you and your family through and through.

I guess I'm fortunate as my family is healthy. It's not my time yet to have to deal with the sadness. Good luck with everything and we will sweat a little extra this weekend. Plus I heard a rumor that sunny may make an appearance after backing out after poca. He can sweat for us all.

The stuff of the heart is what matters most and is everlasting in you Found and all your loved ones. As you honor and celebrate those lives, you too are blessed in spirit.

So psyched at the idea of meeting more of you from the forum at Blk Mtn. There will be some joyous dance for sure in honor of all that is peaceful, loving and pure. The weather report looks suite too!

My brother, an Asheville resident who works outdoors and will be at the shows with me, says the everyday rain pattern will end before the weekend.

PS: he's a shitty weatherman, but he's got to turn that around at some point. Plus after enduring Pocahontas, wtf...

After poca we can handle about anything. But I concur with his forecast. Dry and cooler than average temps. Campfires in the 90's. Showtime of 73 degrees.

Poetry Girl...If you are coming from Koa make a left at the first light you come to...Then make your first right and that is the Brewery. This entrance puts you walking into the venue and the indoor bar will be on your left...can you picture this part of the facility?
