So I was doing some homework trying to convince myself to do the 2 night summer finale when I noticed that there are going to be late night sets after DSO both nights. Rumpke mountain boys on Friday and captain midnight band on sat. Would probably do koa everyone spoke of last year and was wondering how the majority of you traveled back and forth last year

In a borrowed panel van with no windows and a alcoholiclly-sober driver.  If that's not available this year, it might look a little something like this:

It's gonna be a fun time DD!!!  You should get with the business of going!

OMG tea.  Great pic.  I plan on squeezing into someones back seat.  There was this guy doing "free rides" requesting 20 buck tips but if you have several thats probably worth it.  You cant walk it as there is no shoulder to walk on.  I think its 1.2 miles to the entrance to the KOA.  Someone at the campground last year said that the cops set up a roadblock after.  Cant confirm that as we bolted the second the show ended.  Note that the spots will sell out and they will just toss you in the field in the back if you dont book a spot, but thats still a great spot.  And Ill be alcoholically sober at the show.  My pupils are big because its very dark outside officer.  Duh!!

It's all about confidence. You'll do it if you believe you can.

I don't drink and drive, though. In the case of alcohol "belief" isn't the problem.  Cops are there to help us, don't ever assume or think otherwise. In this game of life we're all actors, play your part well.

I look forward to dancing under the stars. Last year was loads of fun and this year has the potential for even more.

Just need to find some proper dancing shoes...

I jUst got new merrels. Not as light as my last pair, but water proof and breathable. I have not enjoyed the evening dew the past several jubilees or last yar's Blk mountain. Feet got so wet

I kept thinking of Lt. DAN and his great advice about changing socks in the jungle. You got to keep your feet dry!!! But many of you like the barefoot dance. I have much respect for you all!!! Always try to give u guys and gals more room, so as not to trample a toe!!! I loved the mulch last year!! Great venue...A bit too much incline left side of stage. I almost slipped last year. Maybe I did!!! Na, fell once at jubilee...perfect splits, @ Rebecca can vouch. Once in Jamaica. Blk mountain no slip, just fire!!! I really like these upcoming VA NC venues!! They are such sweet spots for DSO!!!! The music seems more natural playing in some nature!!!

Last year they rocked it. I still remember the Stephen's. Omg what a fucking build up!! Look forward to saying hi and hugging many of you soon!!!

Dead duck I bummed a ride from koa. I am sure u can get a ride there, But if u loose ride back it's a shit walk!!! Not to far from venue, but winding roads, and famous VA And NC 1 inch shoulders and 5 foot ditch!! Don't think cabs are a option. You are more.than welcome to drive truck if you like, but I can't drive after.shows....can't even find my fucking tent at jubilee.....All nights!!! Excitement is now starting to build!!!

Mango is wise...

Don't tempt the fuzz in Swannanowhere or Crack Mountain...

here's a thought for those of you that didn't get a cabin from KOA and don't want to rough it:

:headbang:

Man there are some nice places to stay!!!  That would have been the ticket if you have a sober driver.  I want that 500 a night mountain chalet with hot tub on the deck!!  Thanks for making me no longer all excited to camp at the KOA.

Section A-Z of the KOA will be just fine rude.  Just gotta watch out for those golf carts after 3am:

Trust me, those golf carts are being tuned up as we speak. Fortunately they're driven by retirees instead of cops. They love us there. They just have a disenchanted way of showing it.

That old man on the cart absolutely loved us from 3-4am. The sheriff that drove by twice, not so much. Was surreal hearing someone yell "5-0 on the lot" when the sheriff came through. I'm like that's not conspicuous.

I have yet to get a white rabbit and was kinda hoping since it seems to be the theme cover and closer/filler for 2014 we'd get one at black mountain. Have always loved Grace belting it out, but would relish hearing Lisa slay it. The videos and streams have been amazing but I'm thinking that's one I gotta hear live to get the full Monty.

If you are really into old school acid rock, from that magical era when it was evolving from folk rock to something we all know and love, allow me to recommend the Great Society. The compilation album Conspicuous Only in Its Absence contains the original White Rabbit and Somebody to Love featuring Grace in pre-Airplane days. And the Sally Go Round the Roses alone is worth the price of a download. But get the album for the cover (or at least look it up).

It was all recorded at the Matrix in '66. Listening to the notes bend will make you yearn for a purer time...
