Forum MVP PoetryGirl Posted July 6, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 6, 2014 This was my second show! The crowd was pumped and the band came out energized. The band knew Atlanta loved them. The previous years Truckin is one of the best I know probably because I was perched like a dove close to the stage on Jerry's side overlooking the crowd returning the love in manifold glory. The sound is tricky in the voluminous Omni and I came to gain a full appreciation of the job the crew did. They allowed camping in downtown Atlanta that year!!! And the vender scene rivaled an eastern open air market. Drumming circle were amazing and inspired a poem I posted early this year. The whole second set was bigger than life. Jerry's soulful " Fire, fire, fire on the Mtn ", estimated had us still bouncing in the parking lot along like the do-Dah man and Eyes so rhythmic and happy. Glory! I discovered the hall scene and this was my hook. I love dancing having spent 5 days a week some years in the studio honing my ballet and jazz. The security didn't know what to think and just watched. The drummers were hammering it out that night and Drums very enjoyable. Wheel slowly turns out of space after a beautiful lullaby like melody that expands and opens drifting eeking out sound in the spaciousness and picks up speed delicately. Standing on the Moon! And all in all what a lovely, lovely, time.
Weather Command
This was my favorite of the 4 Colorado shows...many did not show up due to the 4th of July...plenty of room to dance and band made a statement!
Forum MVP found Posted July 12, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 I probably enjoyed the first set more than most people. Didn't think the playing was particularly wowing outside of the Half Step. If I remember correctly, the Cassidy while played really well was rather short. Could've just been me though. Time flies when you're having fun. Loved Built To Last, We Can Run, and Queen Jane. Those are the type of songs that are so very 89 to me. Scarlet>Fire, Estimated>Eyes... What can you say? Just classic shit right there. SOTM was wonderful. Great vocal performance by Jeff. Very fun show. Lots of dancing towards the back. Good to see lots of family out there too. Forum MVP Mango Posted July 12, 2014 Author Forum MVP Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 My friends who i was riding with for this run had an amazing time at this show. Under normal circumstances I would have had a blast....but my mind was somewhere else and I was having extreme difficultly pulling my head out of my ass. A shame, really, I was pretty upset with myself for not overcoming the outside forces to have a good time. Couldn't stand that grip-tape floor they have there. Killer freakin show tho, i'd like to hear this one again
