TJed
Fun looking 72 show, especially following the 1970 show from the night before. Doubt the Dead opened too many shows with "Me and Bobby McGee" Wish I could have been at the original and the re-creation!

Forum MVP HelpSlip Posted June 5, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 Doubt the Dead opened too many shows with "Me and Bobby McGee" interesting fact is that this show probably didnt actually open with Bobby McGee.. deadbase note of this show "setlist incomplete, missing the beginning of the first set" both 12-12 & 12-31-81 acoustic sets that start both shows, open with Bobby Mcgee.. Never ever wanted to go to Brooklyn until now!! Still playing lottery with hopes of a permanent tour!!! If you look at the DSO facecebook, it gets its share of Douche bags. And Im sorry to say that most are from New York. Not saying anything bad about new yorkers, but their Douche Bags are WORLD CLASS!!! They will openly bash anyone and everyone. Other places douches wont be as public, but these guys are tools. The funny thing is he acted all Dead expert about the Westbury show but claimed DSO played their own studio tunes as he wasnt familiar with them. Well I had never heard Keep on Growing until Jubilee but at least I made sure to google it so I wouldnt look like an idiot(played 3x in 85 and 1x in 86). Then I love the Douche bags that complain that the show sucked b/c they played a few songs they didnt like. Serious? The other comment was about half the people leaving early. New Yorkers always leave early. The New Years shows were amazing and people left early. Creates space for the rest. I had never been to a show where people left and on that sold out show before the encore there were like 7 rows of people. Im like wtf. /end rant. Forum MVP Mango Posted June 5, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 If you are into dancing / having space / blissing out / hearing the music...then new York city sucks. Have seen some Damn good shows there. There is typically an exodus during drums/space

Forum MVP chuckvegas Posted June 6, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 6, 2014 Don't forget to throw in (and throw up) enough alcohol to float an aircraft carrier. As Mango said, they always do play phenomenol shows there. Dead roots run deep. But the coastal differences seem stark.

Forum MVP Rude Posted June 7, 2014 Forum MVP Report Share Posted June 7, 2014 Some douche wrote that on DSO favebook page. Then I went to his personal page and he said that DSO started playing their own studio songs lol. Think keep on growing to him was written and recorded by DSO lol. Then like 5 other New Yorkers started bashing DSO. I guess it's nothing new since they pretty much bash their sports teams. I'm not saying New Yorkers are douche bags. I'm saying the douche bags there are a cut above your standard douche bags.
