I enjoyed this show immensely. Basically everything from Bird Song on was balls to the wall.

The venue was fantastic.....small theater seating just over 600. I was front row in front of Skip. My what a treat. Skip has taken this band to an entirely new level in my opinion. He is a master bass player, plain and simple. The entire band was all business tonight......locked in.

Even got to meet Sam Cutler and get him to sign a copy of his new book "You Can't Always Get What You Want".

That's it for me until early August. Can't wait for the VA run!

IIRC, this was the first Standing where Jerry really let loose on the final "I'd rather be with you."  Blew me right outta my seat.

Also, ths was the first time I used a cell phone (really "car phone" at the time).  We were in a friend's aunt's car and the aunt had given permission for us to use this contraption.  So I called a buddy back east for the blow by blow report of us entering the parking lot.  I wonder what the per minute charge was.

I actually quite enjoyed the Brent offering last night.

In fact, I'll take select Brent tunes over many of the Dylan tunes any night.

Hey Found, having done Wellmont through 2x Port Chester with me how did this show compare? Definitely got some songs I always like to hear such as SOTM, Queen Jane, Crazy Fingers, Terrapin. I'm glad you got your Terrapin. Of the Wellmont through Ram's Head the 2nd night of Port Chester was hands down my favorite and that seemed to be the opinion of others I did the shows with. There were good crowds on the East these runs and MC seemed to say he thought so too while we were driving back to DC. There was decent dance space each night and at the Capitol people really got down. We formed a solid group of dancers on the right side both nights.

I hope you guys are still paying Lisa. With all these 80s shows she isn't on stage all that much. Although, I love 80s shows, just as I do any era really. Song selection matters more to me than the era itself.

I feel like DSO sticks to some of the same JGB songs for a while. Is this because it is just too hard to keep a bunch of songs in rotation and you have to practice them all over again? There is so much wonderful JGB material I never hear about DSO playing.

Nope, I find roughly half the Dylan offerings to be a good chance to go take a leak.

That's one reason I prefer anything pre-'80......less Dylan.

Fun evening in Harrisburg. Showed up at showtime and found there were no more tickets for lil old me, and showing up on the late side nothing to be procured outside.

Fell in with a 4 good people also locked out, and tried to find an extra off latecomers, chit chatted, and they peddler some wares to those on smoke break. Heard about a local drum circle so me and 2 others took a trip down there for 40 minutes, returning for setbreak.

Slipped in uncontested with the masses coming back from smoking. Crazy fingers was nice way to ease in to my evening of music. Playin was big and spacey, love listening to what skip is doin up there.

Terrapin is my highlight for the night, big and triumphant and beautiful. Exceptionally tasty jam into drums as well, with Jeff leaving first and letting eaton skip and rob b fool around for a decent while, was very cool. Kept raging through most all of drums, expeling the enery I didnt get to in set 1. Space was awesome as well, Jeff and skip with some good interplay and clearing having some fun goofing around at the end.

The drummers tried to give us one during miracle, better luck at the jubilee dino.

Always nice to hear Lisa sing, she touched our souls and then was gone.

Bought some trinkets in the lot with the ticket money I didn't spend, don't send the goons after me please Dso!

Whitaker center is a nice small intimate theatre. Very clean but they don't let you bring your beer inside the actual theatre part.

Cold Rain and Snow didn't quite get it going for me but Little Red Rooster was pretty spicy. Just as good as the one played first night at the Cap. Peggy O is always a treat to hear. Bounced along in a very light and lilting way. I'm very much Pro-Dylan. Would have preferred Desolation but Queen Jane did the trick. Just A Little Light was fun and rare Brent tune you don't catch from DSO to often so I was on board. Ramble on Rose was actually pretty darn strong. Not really a song that gets me pumped but the energy was there. Picasso Moon slid right in there. I'll dig on some good 80s Bobby cheese. Birdsong was a really strong closer. Really let loose on that one. Hit a few different peaks with that one.

In the second set, Skip took the fuck over. He got super aggressive. For all intents and purposes, he was playing the lead on Crazy Fingers through Terrapin. Those of you going to the jubilee will be in for a treat he really slammed it into hyperspace. Crazy Fingers, while unusual in that slot, was the perfect opener for me. Had a great jam going out of it. Not a big PITB fan but this one was long, drippy, and psychedelic. Skip was commanding and driving the jam and the band followed. UJB, also not a favorite of mine, but played really well due to Skip... And Terrapin... The glorious and majestic Terrapin... How I love thee so. It was big and powerful yet gentle in just the right parts. Really great version and the crowd seemed to agree. Wheel and Miracle were good post Space songs. Jeff put some really strong vocals into SOTM towards the end. Sugar Mags and Touch of Grey for a nice and raucous end to the set. Yes please and thank you on the extra Dylan and Lisa killed Strange Man. The end.

No jubilee but I'll pick up where I left off in Red Bank.

Mike,

I thought this show was solid. Terrapinnnnnnnn. Probably on par with the wellmont for me.

1. Cap 2

2. Wellmont

3. Harrisburg

4. Cap 1

And another strange note of interest. My 89th show was an 89 show. Go figure.

If 90 and 91 go like that, buy a lottery ticket.  Lets just hope 92 is not 92 - unless your a Samba fan of course or if they do an Original 3rd set filler.

There was a really sick jam after terrapin. Rob B. was pounding dem keys.

And for the record 92 has its moments... Not many but they're there. DSO makes gems out of 90s shows.

3.20.92 was pretty stout by '92 standards.

You are right - DSO straight up slays the 90's and don't need midi to help them!

For reasons beyond my control this will be my only show till St L, Pittsburgh, and pisgah in summer.

I enjoyed the performance immensely. The quickly stacked chair backs, intimate 3 tiered venue, and friendly dancing companions surely helped.

Barraco was behind some sort of presidential spit stoping plexiglass separating him from rest of band. Little Light was just fine and from my vantage point had a clear shot as was right in front of him. Still from there Skip pretty much bombed my ass off from clear across the stage.

Pissed can't do Jubilee....c u on the run
